NoSo is a Texan saying pinche like a Minnesotan calling someone a hoser? Worse?
Yeah 10x the rams are like African waterbuck if you don’t handle the meat after skinning them they taste better, the skin / hair has that funky smell that seems to transfer to the meat, imo larger boar hogs have the same problem.Have never had an aoudad that tasted bad or was too tough and that's from rams over 35" to ewes. Most people that scoff at them have never actually tried it and or the few that have just had a bad experience from a friend who cooked it and is clueless about field care and cooking wild animals. Those same people are the ones who's diet consists of 98% store bought meat. All that to say, if you're curious about it, the wrap they get as table fare is false.
I also have zero issue with people shooting them and leaving them. I'd be happier if people would take more ammo and lay out as many as they could to be honest. The world could use a lot more aoudad killers and a lot less aoudad running around in North America.
OP, keep on killing those pinche things haha.
N=1 but when I was in Texas they had opinions they volunteered telling us we should have left all meat to rot, couldn’t believe we’d pack anything out, etc. They seemed plenty eager to bring it up person.Luckily if you want to come hunt Aoudad in Texas you can enjoy your hunt without anyone bringing up the politics/ethics of it. That’s only on the internet.
I’ll break that mold if that’s an open offer. And it’s funny that hunters asking to come hunt, and I tell them please shoot both ewes and rams, but pack out the lamb and ewe meat , don’t return the PM’s on here,

That something that should be taken up with the outfitter before the huntN=1 but when I was in Texas they had opinions they volunteered telling us we should have left all meat to rot, couldn’t believe we’d pack anything out, etc. They seemed plenty eager to bring it up person.
It wasn’t outfitter/ranch hands I was referring to. It was other hunters telling us that after we DIY hunted and packed out meat (backstraps off ram, full ewe, and a kid that was comically small). That something that should be taken up with the outfitter before the hunt
And with the guide with your wallet if they don’t come prepared with a cargo pack and the desire to fulfill their duties to the client.
Most of them are just ranch hands trying to make a little extra money
And the booking agent never told them “ these guys insist on packing their meat out “
Pinche pendajo morality kings!Yeah no political or ethical crap on a hunt around here!
The kids and ewes are good spiced up and slow cooked and I have zero issues eating them, rams maybe a backstrap or two ground up and made into tamales
Or chili, cowboy gulach with beans and corn , rotel tomatoes
But buried and cooked is best
Unfortunately it has rained all week and the pit is still full of water
You pinche morality kings should shut your pie hole about wasting meat
Most of yall probably don’t even know how to clean, cook, store your animals you kill,
pinche internet heroes

Sounds like a very traumatizing experience.N=1 but when I was in Texas they had opinions they volunteered telling us we should have left all meat to rot, couldn’t believe we’d pack anything out, etc. They seemed plenty eager to bring it up person.
Nope but someone made it sound like this internet thread would comment but Texans wouldn’t. That wasn’t my experience, they were all to happy to preach aoudad was garbage unsolicited.Sounds like a very traumatizing experience.
It’s a local thing, in Mexico they like cow gut soup every Sunday ( it’s a tradition and a acquired taste) in the sand pit they liked camel butter ( gross stuff )Nope but someone made it sound like this internet thread would comment but Texans wouldn’t. Where I live the locals eat seal oil. It’s foul, taste stays in your mouth for hours. Edible is subjective. It’s a local thing, in Mexico they like cow gut soup every Sunday ( it’s a tradition and a acquired taste) in the sand pit they liked camel butter ( gross stuff )
You get hungry enough you’ll eat the arse out of a dead cow
Put enough hot sauce and pico with aoudad in a tortilla and chase it down with
Some beer, you’ll be good to go![]()
I don’t even want to think about what a Eskimo will eatWhere I live the locals eat seal oil. It’s foul, taste stays in your mouth for hours. Edible is subjective.
There’s even one where they hollow out a seal, fill it with birds and bury it for a few months before eating it. I’d eat the oldest stinkiest aoudad before even getting within 100yds of that seal thing.I don’t even want to think about what a Eskimo will eat
Stuff like fermented seal flipper, eggs that float , seagulls, ect
