Is there anything out there that can just be taken at face value anymore. Not everything has to have some contrived political implications or motives. Although there are some who seem to think the opposite. How is anyone supposed to navigate that bullshit, would it be anti police not to help them destroy that inventory?

And this has to do with meat eater how, I would love to hear that one, is Charles post the mastermind of all of it. Come on yall.

He just had a big podcast on guns and how he’s buying a suppressor and the hearing protection act.

I also thought about this thread when listening to that podcast, it was a good one with good info! I'm sure Chernin used his controlling partnership to hand pick the NSSF representatives on the show..

I'm not sure I buy they were being intellectually honest with their takes on non-lead ammo but the rest of it seemed to be very fair info. On the other side of the coin, the meat eater crew seems a little uneducated when it comes to ballistics and perceived performance benefits of copper.

Benchmade had made $22,603 worth of donations to anti 2a senators in 2 years and $0 to republicans. They are big sponsors of meateater. Tinfoil hat or not it doesn’t take a masters degree to see what’s in the numbers.

Not sure I buy the NSSF guy was hand-picked, but agree sometimes they are a bit shallow with info. Also getting shallow with content. It’s all starting to feel like Field and Stream magazine. Still like the shows, but the deluge of content isn’t very enticing. And I tried to listen to the “Trophy hunting” podcast from Ben and was damn near nauseated. That show was just plain dumb.

If you ask why i listen...I’m an optimist and hope things will get better, so listen to see how things go.

Schnees is a big sponsor. So is vortex. So is Savage. Did you know about the donations made by Benchmade before the social media scandal, or after?

I would wager that you, like most of us, had no clue about the political dealings of a knife company. Unless you enjoy looking at the financials of companies to see who they are donating money to, in which case a tinfoil hat would suit you well.

Outrage butthurt culture is really getting out of hand.

Had no interest in their donations until the scandal came to light. When I saw a crack in their integrity I took the time to see if it was a one time thing or a trend. Unlike most internet warriors I try to educate and learn a deeper story before I make an uneducated decision. When or if I see a trend then I form my opinions. What a concept huh

Police rep on the local news said they weren’t from a buy-backs........

If Benchmade supports local Oregon politicians they are more or less forced to support Democrats.
But key info is missing from the data.
What Democrats did they support?
Given a voting choice of 2 Democrats maybe they supported the best of the 2? Maybe they supported the more moderate Democrat?
In Washington and Oregon voting for a republican is a lot like not voting at all.
Often your better served to vote for the politician you hate least rather than vote for the guy you like who doesn’t stand a chance.

Common sense and reason have no place here. Take that someplace else.

Maybe they call that “tactical voting”. You don’t vote to get the guy you want into office. You vote to keep the guy you absolutely don’t want in office, from getting into office.

You’ve got to bet on a horse that at least stands a chance at winning the race.

Did folks forget “any body but Hillary”.

Here’s something to ponder. In a recent Congressional Health and Wellness study, it was found that 86% of Democrats in Congress ate a steak at least once a month. In a slightly related study, the US Organic Farm Association published statistics that demonstrate the political slant of the customer base for organic and sustainable agriculture products heavily favored the Democratic Party. The correlation here is obvious. What’s the one thing that all these steak eating Democrats have in common? You guessed it, KNIVES. You can’t eat a steak without a steak knife. The fact that a company like Benchmark would makes knives, and by default, support the very politicians that want to take my guns, is beyond comprehension.

That article seems oddly uneducated but then the writer claims to be a "Firearms Manufacturer".

There are 3 pictures. 2 contain what looks to be an 870 shotgun. In one pic there is a ground clamp on the barrel (plasma cutter) and the forearm end is burning. In the other pic the forearm is clearly to the most rear position and the magazine tube is cut off at the end of the forearm. There doesn't appear to be a barrel at all, but the yellow container blocks the view. But regardless, the magazine tube is clearly cut off so that it doesn't contain the threads that would be needed to mount a barrel. If it wasn't cut off it would be sticking out from the forearm when the forearm is to the rear like it is in the pictures.

You can see in the pics they cut that shotgun barrel and magazine tube just in front of the forearm with the forearm to the rear.
Short barreled shotgun.........LOL!

I read even further.........WTF!

Ryan Cleckner is an experienced firearms industry insider and specialized manufacturer in addition to being one of the foremost attorneys in the firearms industry. There’s nothing uneducated about his opinions or writing. Hint: he’s the guy you should always reference when it comes to firearms related law and 2A politics.

I figured out who he was. I actually have one of his books. It’s a good read.
My opinion of his rant about illegal short barrel shotguns and Benchmage possibly breaking the law and getting preferential treatment remains the same.
That little tangent was uncalled for, nothing in the photo’s warranted it, and someone who is fairly familliar with pump shotguns shouldn’t have come to the short barreled conclusion based off those 3 photo’s.
The rest of the piece I liked, but that episode in the middle I could do without.

but they are just giant commercials for boots and cooking equipment now. The website is a big sales front for all his swag and books. I’m headed to my first “live show” next month hopefully it’s not a big marketplace wanting my cash.

He just formed the new corporation and swallowed up a bunch of his competition and now this? Unfortunately I assume this business sale is all about the $$$.

Did you think he was a nonprofit or volunteering or something? The things you describe are capitalism, and he’s built a business with lots of hard work.

Capitalism has been broken for the last hundred years. It gotten extremely corrupt with more and more government control and meddling. We have crony capitalism. No one will fix it, not liberals or republicans.

Definitely not a business owner are you? Capitalism is alive and well with those of us who work our tails off building businesses, providing services and earning our living each day. Don’t blame the system for the corruption, blame the corrupt.

After reading what I posted, I see it may appear anti business or anti capatalism. That was not my intention at all. I see now that my comments were not appropriate for this thread, they were a whine against big government. I'm anti big government period and anti big government and big business crony capatalism. I blame big government for crony capatalism. I'm pro business with very limited government control. I don't know what "system" you are talking about that I'm blaming. I blame the government. I blame "the corrupt" few in business too, agreeing with you. I'm pro capatalism, extremely pro small business and very, very limited government. I certainly did don't mean to knock you or other businesses, quite the contrary. Business is good right now and that's great for everyone!!
