That's something I do not have. I've just trusted my pre-fits for better or worse.

That was my plan as well until I received a prefit 300wsm barrel and it seemed a bit too hard to close the bolt on factory ammo. Bought the guage and it confirmed my suspicions. I couldn't rent a guage for much cheaper than buying one. Now I have a 6gt, 300wsm, and a Creedmoor go guage. I know th Creedmoor guage is good for 6, 6.5, possibly others. Maybe the same with the GT and WSM?

How did you determine your depth needed? Just kept test fitting?

Ya had to test fit quite a bit, ended up using a piece of printer paper folded in half to check free float. It turned out good enough for me.

I haven’t yet. The gap looks quite a bit smaller in the picture then it does irl

Picture should be rotated 5 shot first then brought it down, 3 shot with 140s ,with 143 ELDX its dead on .I just have a lot of ELDMs to practice with.

Here's my first semi custom tikka It started its life as a blued t3x 300 win mag. I just got in all the parts and finished last week so I was able to get out to the range this weekend and try some handloads as this was my first time handloading so just to get some experience and some rounds down the barrel.

Lefty 308, vx3hd 4.5-14 x40, ti bolt handle, yodave spring, talley lw, I modded the stock by adding a arca plate in front of the mag. Comes in at 7lb2oz empty. It shoots 150ttsx and 155 scenars into the same group out to 330yds or so. I just shoot scenars after that. Both are at 2960fps. It's never let me down.

Here is my most recent one, started life as a 223 t3x, is now a 6mm arc with a 20” light Palma contour preferred prefit. Need to get out and put a couple 10 round groups on paper but it’s a shooter.

Nice rig I like that, a fellow Canadian and the bolt is on the proper side. Those Scenar's sound like they work well for you at longer ranges and pretty tough to beat the TTSX at closer range.

Here’s an updated version of my 6.5 PRC. It’s now in a short action XLR with the C-6 buttstock. Just did some pressure testing with the 147s and with 58 grains of N565 I’m getting 2880 FPS with this 18” barrel
