Nothing too fancy -

Tikka T3X Roughtech 6.5 PRC

Mesa Precision stock

Unknown Munitions 3 port SS pro brake

Trijicon Credo HX 2.5-15x42 MOA scope

Hawkins Long Range Hybrid Rings

8#s 14ozs fully dressed

Originally had a Nightforce SHV 4-14x50, picatinny rail and rings on it. And it was 9#s 6ozs

I put it on a diet - definitely notice the weight difference!
Killer set up - I am looking at roughly the same for elk minus the brake. Love the Mesa stock and just about to buy the Tikka- stuck on what version as I am not sure if I need the barrel threaded or not.

Get it threaded now and save the headache later. Eventually you'll want it or someone will down the line.

Just got this back from the smith, no range session yet.
7prc, 23” benchmark #2
wildcat stock, factory painted
KRG midas 2 stage trigger (awesome)
MT bolt handle and bottom metal (needed milling for wide trigger)
mildot nxs compact 2.5-10 with sportsmatch rings. 7lb 9oz unloaded
I hope to shoot 169HH or 165 bondstrikes with it, but may be stuck with factory eldx for this season.

May be a long shot, but would you or anybody else in this thread be able to recommend someone within driving distance of the Minneapolis metro area that could put together a build similar to this. I’m not a gunsmith, and quite frankly don’t trust myself since this is my first Tikka build. I still have a while yet before the AG Composites Privateer stock is in (early September estimate). I have the same Unknown Munitions flush mount, and hadn’t considered adding the Gunsmith adapter until I saw yours. Figure there’s no harm in having it. I’ll be sending a bolt to get fluted by LRI this week or next. I also have a question about the Lumley knob and handle. I am left handed and ordered the left hand specific handle with intermediate carbon fiber knob. Does it make a difference having the hand specific version versus the straight (pros and cons), or simply a matter of preference? I used to live in Orange County and recently moved home to Minnesota, otherwise I’d ask if you’d be willing to put this together since it looks like you definitely know what you’re doing.

I’d box everything up and send it to LRI.
No idea about hand orientation for bolt length , I have a big hand and a swept bolt hits my hand.
The gunsmith adapter is handy for shooting from a seated position off of that little tripod and I’d rather have a gunsmith drill that 1/2” hole

Threw together another one for a buddy today.

24” 7mm PRC Proof Sendero prefit
Bolt fluting and skeletonized handle by Polished Knob
Mountain Tactical bottom metal
Little Bastard Brake
Mesa stock in Alpine

Weight is with the rail but without the bipod. Rifle feeds flawlessly and headspaced great. Time to get a few groups down range.

Seems I can’t stop building these easy button Tikka hunting rifles. Thanks @MuleyFever for the awesome barreled action!

.Tikka T3X 7RSAUM
.20” McGowen 1:8 Twist Barrel
.Fluted T3X Bolt
.High Desert Bottom Metal
.TIPro3 Brake
.Mesa Stock
.SWFA 3-9HD

Loading up some 175 ELDX’s and will report back in the cold bore challenge if I get time. If it shoots like my other 5 semi custom Tikkas it’s going to be a fun one!

Most recent. 18” 7prc. Carbonsix featherweight barrel, stockys vg2, Sportsmatch rings, tenmile 3-18x50. Waiting on the UM rings to come in.

Does the Carbonsix featherweight contour fit into a Stocky’s VG2 or Hunter without any additional modifications or sanding? I just got off the phone with Stocky’s, but they couldn’t give me a definitive answer. They basically said if I ordered a Proof prefit barrel channel, that “they think it should work.”

Hi all- I just responded to TxLite’s post above, but wondering if anyone else might have some knowledge or suggestions. This is my first Tikka build. I’m left handed and tired of there not being many options for us left handers out there, so figured I’d do this first build and try to learn something along the way.

I just picked up a T3x Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor. I also have a Proof prefit, and ordered an AG Composites Privateer that is still at least 14 weeks out. I’m seeing several Stocky’s and Carbonsix in this thread and looking at possibly changing the direction of the build to save $600 bucks or so. The Stocky’s Hunter is 4-5 oz lighter than the Privateer and on sale for only $399. That alone would save me about $400 after the AG Composites shipping to the gun builder, then to me, etc. I’m sure both are good stocks, but just wanted to get some input from this thread to see whether I’d be making a mistake if I cancel the Privateer order and return the Proof barrel (still have about 10 days I can do that). Mainly, I just want to also check if the Carbonsix will drop into a Stocky’s fine without sanding etc.

At the end of the day, this is an ultralight, backcountry, backpack style hunt mountain build. It’s going to get some miles and get beat up on. If I can still get a good quality through a Stocky’s / Carbon six, I could save about $600 and put that towards other bells and whistles or a suppressor.

It fits fine in the barrel channel. The action is where it was tight. The featherweight is a thinner contour than the proof sendero so there’s a little bit more gap than you’d get with the sendero.

Were you still able to get the action in without too many headaches?

Here's mine. It's the older M695 model tikka chambered in 7mm magnum. I got it off my neighbor and put the GRS "hunter" stock on it a couple of years ago. It came with Swaro 12x glass, lightweight, good for low light. Only took down a Muley with it so far.
