As a house painter, I don't need a 2500 "most" of my driving BUT on the days that I hook a trailer with a load on it, I don't worry as much with the new 1500 gas motor trucks being able to pull the load..... I worry about being able to stop the truck and trailer. The brake difference is enough to keep me in a 2500.

I had a 68 bronco and a 74 bronco. I won't even let a ford of any kind park in my driveway.

I had three 2500 dodges and the last one was a 3500. I wouldn't go back to a 2500.

Everyone pretty much summed it up. Towing that much weight isn’t the issue it’s the wear on the tranny, breaks etc pulling. So go 3/4

You can soften the front suspension up with Carli kit on Ford or Dodge

The 2500 ram has coil rear suspension and if thay 6.4 has the 8 speed. It will probably be your favorite truck. 6 speed is still very good and dependable. You will not regret the 2500.

Wow! I guess in this crazy market that’s not bad. I had to dig up my window sticker on my ‘16 to compare and we are about $1k apart but definitely different options, including the $9k cummins. I’m glad I’m not in the market for a truck but will be in line with everyone else on my wife’s suv next summer. That’s a tough call. Best of luck.
Right, same truck with a Cummins is 77.

10k trailers are for 2500s. A lot of 1/2 ton trucks are rated for 10k, but you aren't going to like it one bit. You not only have to pull it, you gotta stop it, and you gotta keep it from pushing you into the ditch...pulling it is the easy part.

I don’t tow much anymore but I would never get rid of my Cummins. It rides a little rougher but the pros out way the cons. On long road trips I can get 700 miles to a tank of fuel.

We have a brand new 2500 work truck.
About 10k miles.
Personally I think it rides like a bag of dicks.
Pure dicks is what I think when we hit the slightest bumps.
If I was gonna buy a 2500 I'd make sure I had money for Thuren or Carli suspension
