Largest Private Western Land Owners Controlling Huge Amounts Of Public Land

There have been wealthy, greedy people and corrupt law makers and politicians throughout our nations history, and thats how you get these landlocked public parcels. It was by design and intent, not an accident. Read about how the railroad magnates tied up 2x's as much land as they bought by purchasing "blocks" of land in between public lands all along their railroads.......locking up and controlling millions of acres of the public lands.....then you get to see how all this shit was done long ago. Don't make it right now, does it? Eminent Domain is the solution to the problem.

Trying to solve a problem about landownership, when the parcels were decided on 150 years ago. A- Blame the current landowners? B- Blame the elected government in power then? C- Blame the elected government in power now? D- Argue with others like yourself getting the shaft by A,B, and C? Definitely D!

Stan Kroeneke who has over 100,000 of public land land locked on his WY Q Creek ranch tried to pull it over on the people of Wyoming. He proposed a land swap. But instead of being fair and honorable (again this guy has 12-20 billion) his proposal was to swap his least desirable arid sagebrush scrub land for prime irrigated/ water rights property. You can’t trust these greedy billionaires.

It is a capitalistic society that we live in! He’s playing fair and square! If he is paying for grazing rights and/or outfitter permit on this land, he doesn’t owe Joe public anything! Just because the govt allowed this to happen doesn’t make him a villain. Unless he begins to feel mighty charitable, nothing is going to change! You might as well curse the sun and moon!

He does not need to feel charitable to make changes, only that the govt get enough support/cause to utilize eminent domain to place a ROW to allow public access to public land. The govt uses this procedure every day in America. They do it fair and square too...they pay the going and reasonable rate for every acre they need. If they decide on it, there is not a thing you can do to stop it regardless of how wealthy you are.

Nobody is going to lose their property via eminent domain so some dudes can go shoot a Deer.

My neighbor has a swimming pool, since the state controls water ownership and use, i should be allowed to have access across my neighbors yard to access the landlocked water. Its not right that these rich land owners are allowed to control who uses their landlocked pool

Eminent domain is a bullshit scam. They can and do use it all the time but I would guess 90% or more of the time the reason is total BS. I lost land to a water district because they wanted to widen the drainage running thru my property. You know what the STATED reason in the lawsuit was...it would drain the farmland downstream from me 3 days quicker than average in heavy rainfall events. It benefited 3 land owners. Yes I got paid but I did not want to sell. My part was small. The farmer who owned the land around me (who would "benefit" from it) didn't want it but was also sued and forced to sell.

We have a rental house that sits on acreage. Said acreage borders timber ground that allows public walk-in only access. Our home is also on the property. Per the lease agreement, tenants aren’t allowed to hunt our private , or access the timber company through our property. We have lots of people walk when they read the lease. Oh well.

Not sure about the not profitable part right now. There’s a lot of new Denali pickups with bale beds running around MT lately with bred heifers going for $4k+
Oh no doubt the last 18 month are the best cattle prices have been in generations (proportionately with inflation, value of a dollar etc.). I had an amazing year. But that's 1 year of awesome lots of years of ok and quite a few years of horrible. Also on the "New Truck" thing. Good ol uncle sam has a new program where if you get rid of/ destroy older diesel equipment you can replace it with brand new "environmental" versions for as low as 10 cents on the dollar in some situations. So basically I traded some hunk of shit tractors and trucks in that I had to work on all the time for brand new equipment all for the price of 1 new tractor....
