So..... how much do you weigh?
Doesn't matter. That number is arbitrary unless I'm competing in a powerlifting competition for bench press. I'm a bowhunter. 2x bodyweight is adequate for any situation IMO.

Next question. Make it good Goofy.

Walk every morning before eating for 30 min to 60 min. The key is understanding how walking can be used to stretch and lengthen your stride, hamstrings, hip flexors and quads. You'll also be strengthening your ankles, calves and all the ligaments that connects the ground to your pelvis. Start at a moderate pace but incorporate walking sprints in every 2 min or so. This being done on an empty stomach will boost your metabolic rate and give you a high reward, low risk exercise. Eventually get a weighted vest or use a pack that's 20-30lbs. This will help with weight

Are "troll jobs" what you keyboard clowns give to each other cuz your wives won't bang you anymore with your C-pap masks?
I like high rewards.

I am unsure of what a walking sprint is?
Do I do what you described ahead of my normal exercise or in place of?

I actually am curious as well. 2x body weight is impressive. I struggle with maintaining both muscle and cardio when I’m hunting. I actually lost about 40-50 pounds off my bench after hunting season. Can we have a video of that 2x body weight lift?

A walking sprint would be speed walking as fast as you can with tall hips and a slightly tucked rib cage. This is important to help your posture and strengthen your core during actual movement. Walking is basically a regressed form of hiking.

This would be before your normal workouts. In your workouts, def focus on a strong core and legs. Arms and bench won't help all that much unless your trying to ruck a heavy ass weight. Even so a strong core is likely a better helper.

KB work and swings are good for a strong core and glutes.

Guys on IG I like for training modalities are @juddlienhard.

He uses a ton of track and field style training that will help bulletproof you for injuries associated with your age.

OP, there are several reasons most of us are chuckling reading this.

The biggest one, I think, is that it sounds like you think you’re the only one to ever do something like this and that everyone has to have an over-the-top workout routine. Don’t get me wrong, taking a sheep with a bow is awesome. The rest of it isn’t that impressive. Many of us do that type of hunt every year here in CO. I’m probably twice your age and I don’t have any type of crazy workout routine.

As stated, I trained for a summer to successfully kill a bighorn solo at 13K in Colorado. Can help understand good training choices over bad ones.
Solid knowledge of nutrition and mobility as well.
Hi, Tommy. I am interesting in improving myself and would appreciate you sharing your fitness program. It's January, so plenty of time for me to review the information and give it a try. I'm planning an elk hunt for September and am always open to trying something different.

Thanks!

When i went into the field for my hunt, I cut to about 12% body fat and weighed about 162.5lbs

I repped 225 14x 5 days before I left for camp. Didn't need to do it, but wanted a confidence booster and a metric for an entire summer of rigorous training.

Not gonna waste my time posting a video for a poser.

What crazy routine did I refer to? So far I've advocated for walking and rucking...?

I have shoulder surgery next month, what can I do in addition to the tall hip rib tuck walks to keep my fitness momentum?

Id start tracking your calories for 7-14 days. Longer is better. It sucks ass. I hate tracking calories. But if you track everything you eat...every sauce and nugget etc. You'll get an idea of what your current metabolic rate is and can then understand what your caloric intake should be to be in a calorie deficit. This will probably help with the mental aspect of staying lean even though you are recovering from surgery. Diet should be nutrient dense whole foods mostly with minimal alcohol and junk food. Alcohol is really shitty for dieting but a beer every couple days at least as SOME nutrients regardless of calories.

Carbon diet app is what i used to go from 178lbs to 162. Tracked my calories most days to stay honest. I eat alot of steak and rice. Usually have 1 beer a weekend, maybe 2.

Yeah, I think that's what he doesn't seem to get. No doubt, it take a culmination of a lot of skills to kill a sheep with a bow, but climbing a13er? In Colorado, soccer moms do that every weekend. I skinned up and snowboarded off the top of 13er this morning and was back home by 11:30 am. I suppose its impressive to some, for many others, its just another weekend. It certainly doesn't qualify one a fitness authority, though he seems to thik it does -that's kind of hilarious.

How am I a fitness authority? Was trying to help other sheep hunters in the gym. Seemed harmless. When they climb the 13er do they also pack out 120lbs and all thier gear you clown? Sit the **** down.

When did I say I lived in Colorado?

It's from a PRIMUS song. I know it that ain't that Brokeback Mountain soundtrack you play on repeat all day cuz you love Heath Ledger.
You said you had a goat and sheep tag in Colorado, along with all the scouting you did. I saw the kid you shot, I mean nanny. You’re from Colorado. Put up or shut up hotshot. 😜
