I know this is in reference to the Wrangler, but I believe it to be relevant:

How Reliable Is the Jeep Wrangler?

Knock on wood, my 2016 Rubi been extremely reliable, with about 50k miles on it now and lots of them offroad. They are also pretty easy to do your own maintenance on too.

Thanks for all the replies. I realize I'm asking a hard question with how new they are. Also if I got one it would be to beat the hell out of it on a regular basis and yes that would be hard to do to a $50K vehicle but chasing dogs is rough on trucks. Probably just stick to the old Toyotas like everyone else.

Also if I got one it would be to beat the hell out of it on a regular basis and yes that would be hard to do to a $50K vehicle but chasing dogs is rough on trucks. Probably just stick to the old Toyotas like everyone else.

You can't go wrong with a Toyota. I had a Tacoma with a 6-speed manual. That truck would get me into (and thankfully out of) places I had not business being in.

Not a Gladiator but I have a 2018 JL 2 door. There are serious steering gear box issues that cause the vehicle to wander all over the road, more than just a "Jeep thing". Jeep just released a 5th revision of the gear box which seems to finally fix the problem and comes on all 2021 rigs, Wrangler and Gladiator. If you get a Gladiator MAKE SURE it has the black cast iron gear box not the older aluminum one. Other than that it's been pretty solid (knock on wood), the new 8 speed auto transmission is great.

After owning an 11 with the 3.8L, ill likely never own another Chrysler product. Under powered garbage. They are incredible off road though.

If you're into Christmas decorating, you'll love jeeps. Your dash will be lit up year round! If not. Just carry a roll of electrical tape to cover the lights up.

Have had 2 jk, a jl, and never had issues with any of them them. Was holding out for a gladiator but for the price I couldn’t do it. Got a nice tundra for the price of a stripped glad.

I drove a buddy's new Gladiator Rubi, I was surprised at the power and 8 speed. It wasn't as noisy as I expected on the road. It wandered a little, but I've found this typical with straight axles. The interior is awesome, seems to be high quality and the details specific to the JT are cool.

I've been considering these as well, need to replace an 11 year old Tundra. I'm torn between the Sport S with the max tow or the Rubicon.

I'd be all about clearance because my biggest problem is getting high centered in the snow. I think rubicon checks that box the highest but still, I just can't imagine taking that beautiful thing out for the first race.

No kidding about wheeling such an expensive rig. I think the Mojave is an inch or so taller in the front, but has no front locker.

I am considering the Sport S with max tow as you get the wider dana 44's and now a limited slip rear end. I'd upgrade the suspension and look from some rubicon take-off rims/tires. From my limited price shopping, the Sport S max tow can be had for 6-8k less than the rubicon, but that price difference narrows fast once you start adding suspension, rims/tires, etc., and the rubi will hold its value better.

I think it’s 7600 and a little more payload, the Rubicon is rated @ 7000. The Rubi I drove had ~1200lbs of payload, not bad but something to consider if adding a roof top tent, bad rack, etc.

yep, they will have reduced payload and towing numbers unfortunately due to added engine weight. I’m sure it’s a sweet combination though, they seem to have worked out the issues with that engine. The gas motor and 8-speed seemed adequate, not the torque I’m used to (currently have a gen 2 tundra with the 5.7) but the trans did a good job of keeping it in the power band.

I absolutely love mine! I am not a super rock crawler but have taken it places no truck should go and even tried to get it stuck and failed. Just the right size to get into and around small places, Still a truck so I can haul stuff and also use it for my daily driver and love it.
