It’d be nice to see more guys participating. I don’t want my brother and I to come across as self important by continuing to post. Plus, it’d be nice to know that we’re not the only ones who suck at shooting!

Shot from 1/12/2026. Shifting and gusty 4-15 mph wind. 384 yards miss as I didn’t hold for enough wind. Front rest was a pack and used trekking pole for the rear. Still very much suck at shooting.

I missed.

421 yards. 8" circle. Sitting supported. Rainy and no wind. 54 degrees. 223 77smk. Pack is around 56 lbs with a rock bag, water, stove and food for 2. I walked about 1/4 mile on flat ground to the shooting site.

My wobble zone felt good but my bullet didn't make it.

Troubleshooting:

- I took a look at Shooter and I had my DA at 6000 probably from obsessing about BC on the new TMKs coming. My actual el is 11 and my kestrel says 339 feet DA.

- I'm going to check my velocity too. The last reading is from June or July.

- and zero check.

I checked zero and speed and fixed my DA.

My ammo is 89fps slower than this summer.

That accounts for my miss.

The new calculations are theoretically correct based on a sample of 1 shot.

This was going to be a longer range day requiring a little more setup so I figured I’d shoot the 714 yard target for my cold bore challenge.

Temp was 32°, 1-2 mph 4-5 o’clock wind. 29.98 pressure and 98% humidity. I failed to correct the environmentals in my solver and barely caught the bottom of the plate.

I nearly missed today because I didn’t correct for environmentals. Spending time behind the gun and trying to suck less is the goal.

I agree with some of the others. I can’t shoot everyday, but I will upload each time I’m able to get out.
