I will say I’ve bought and sold a lot of stuff on forums by now. By and large it’s a real treat compared to craigslist or Facebook. The amount of flakes on those sites is outright incredible to the point where I’m half surprised when a deal goes thru.
I give people the benefit of the doubt. It doesn’t bug me too much if I get an “I’ll take it” and the buyer realizes something and wants to clarify or made some honest mistake and wants to back out. That’s fine. Most of the time on these forums the buyer/seller is gracious about it and it was based on some kind of misunderstanding.
occasionally an annoying tire kicker or flake comes along but overall this medium of classifieds is pretty damn good. And for that I don’t get too worked up about an occasional faux pas on forum etiquette.
