I thought everyone knew thatActually you are not correct. The people (public) of the STATE where the animals reside own those animals. The national public does not own the animals of another state regardless of if those animals are on private, state or federal lands. You may not like the law, but state ownership ( public of THAT state) is the law of the land and therefore the state in question controls wildlife in that state. That is not open for debate. It is fact.
One word will sum that up... Greed.I find it odd though that some people are for reducing opportunities, when its proven that access and opportunity are what is hurting hunting the most.

we only have to sacrifice opportunities if we want to continue to use the current methods of take.Iām all for paying a slight increase for the opportunity to hunt out of state.
All things considered Idaho does a good job and are more then fair with the NR.
As hunting numbers out west continue to grow there is going to have to be more limitations on opportunity. Itās a very simple equation.
Colorado has issues. They are addicted to the non resident money so they donāt dare do anything to correct the glutton of hunters. Itās getting harder and harder to have a quality hunt with the increasing hunting pressure.

basically make hunting harder (regress) and retain opportunity. I know it's an uncomfortable option for most... but would you rather sit out?

Maybe a stupid question, but overall hunter numbers are declining in a steep trend.
Is this just a western hunting issue?
The dirt you hunt on has nothing to do with it. Idaho is over run with nonresident huntersI am a lifetime Idaho Tag holder, and a non resident, so I think I feel both sides. However, what all of theses opinions skip by is that a large portion of these hunts occur on NATIONAL forest or Federal Dirt. I get limiting state lands to state residents, but it strikes me as hypocritical to also limit non residents on opportunities where the state doesn't "own" the land or the game therein.
