Hey. At least the website no longer crashes.

A couple of years back I had a #4xx. Website blew up. 4 hours later, I got in. High demand tags were gone.

I believe that system may only been the case for Sawtooth resident tags- half in-person at 10, the other half online at 1.

Good to know, I knew IDFG did it but must have confused which tags it applied to.

To stop people from logging in on multiple devices, just have the log in be at like 9:30 everybody gets logged in to the system and then you take the single log in to a queue at 10. Simple as that.
You can only have your information to one account. So somebody couldn't even make multiple accounts to get around it. And for kids, just link the accounts.
Shit's almost 2025 man we've got AI that you can't even tell is fake. This would not be hard to do

Had that happen last year, much lower number, got back in and was like 45k+, don't bother emailing them about it. They will blame your device, your internet, you. Then tell you that you're SOL.
They told me "were you on an iphone, yeah well we saw that happen with the newest IOS update, that was the problem...
I said "i haven't done an IOS update in years"
"Well...I don't know what to tell you"

Not trying to be a dick. Im genuinely curious. What would have expected them to do? issue another tag for the unit you wanted? whats a resolution for that?

That obviously would suck but technology is technology and only so much is in their hands if you get kicked out while others didnt.

Was planning on doing the same thing, but couldn't justify the cost of airfare, hotel and rental care this close to Christmas. I know a guy that flew in from MO, got two Elk A tags, was out the door in 5 minutes.

Yes, in-person moves quick, the vendor system must take priority (or something) over online sales. Where I was at, everyone in line, call it 12 folks, with some buying a couple tags each, all got what they wanted. Everyone was through by what, 10:30?

What I learned from that is that 17,000 people also don't want to hunt there.

Well, that was a fun way to spend 4 1/2 hours to finally get through and see that there is nothing left of any interest to me.

I bought a Panhandle B. I have seen elk there and have friends who have had good success. If I draw in WY, I'll turn it back in.

From the time of adding tag to the cart and checking out, it was no longer available. By time my browser refreshed, everything was sold out. Still a lot of options for this Wisconsinite to hunt in the west this fall.

Wouldn’t book that flight just yet. I’m 100% sure that they’re overhauling the system. I thought it was 2025 (for 2026 tags). Someone else thought it was 2026 (for 2027 tags).

I think the biggest thing that bothers me is letting people buy tags in person with other people's info.

The fact that you can make a phone call and pay a guy to take your info and buy a tag for you and 50 other people at an undisclosed outdoors vendor before they ever go online is a huge problem.
