Good to know, I knew IDFG did it but must have confused which tags it applied to.I believe that system may only been the case for Sawtooth resident tags- half in-person at 10, the other half online at 1.
Had that happen last year, much lower number, got back in and was like 45k+, don't bother emailing them about it. They will blame your device, your internet, you. Then tell you that you're SOL.26k in line and then it redirected me to an error screen when my turn was up. What a joke.
Not trying to be a dick. Im genuinely curious. What would have expected them to do? issue another tag for the unit you wanted? whats a resolution for that?Had that happen last year, much lower number, got back in and was like 45k+, don't bother emailing them about it. They told me "were you on an iphone, yeah well we saw that happen with the newest IOS update, that was the problem...
I said "i haven't done an IOS update in years"
"Well...I don't know what to tell you"
Had screenshots and everything. Don't waste your time, but if you decide to, please let me know how it goes
Yes, in-person moves quick, the vendor system must take priority (or something) over online sales. Where I was at, everyone in line, call it 12 folks, with some buying a couple tags each, all got what they wanted. Everyone was through by what, 10:30?Was planning on doing the same thing, but couldn't justify the cost of airfare, hotel and rental care this close to Christmas. I know a guy that flew in from MO, got two Elk A tags, was out the door in 5 minutes.
I bought a Panhandle B. I have seen elk there and have friends who have had good success. If I draw in WY, I'll turn it back in.Well with number 37,388 I still could've gotten a panhandle tag.
What I learned from that is that 17,000 people also don't want to hunt there.
Looks like I am flying out to Idaho next December.Yes, in-person moves quick, the vendor system must take priority (or something) over online sales. Same. Got the Panhandle B. Will take the same strategy of WY>IDI bought a Panhandle B. I have seen elk there and have friends who have had good success. If I draw in WY, I'll turn it back in.

where can you do that (asking for a friend)I think the biggest thing that bothers me is letting people buy tags in person with other people's info.
The fact that you can make a phone call and pay a guy to take your info and buy a tag for you and 50 other people at an undisclosed outdoors vendor before they ever go online is a huge problem.
That bill died in committee last year.Wouldn’t book that flight just yet. I’m 100% sure that they’re overhauling the system. I thought it was 2025 (for 2026 tags). Someone else thought it was 2026 (for 2027 tags).

Same. We should probably create an emotional support group. @MikeDeltaFoxtrotI picked up a Panhandle B tag.
