Absolutely, Reddit posting the headlines of news stories for news channels that just want flashy headlines to sell doritos and boner pills for their advertisers. Wow. You win a cookie.

The true story?, not relevant, the outcome? Not important. Reddit is just click bait for the masses, who do not have the time or intelligence to read between the lines, or wait until a case gets thrown out of court, or actually read the law or case law.

I dont defend bad behavior regardless of the occupation or lack there of, but some people like to paint everyone with the same brush.

Wow, interesting you ignore the actual stories behind some of those "headlines". Many of those have actual videos, because that is a thing now. Many others are "headlines" of actual monetary damages awarded in court, you know, after a legal case where the cops were caught "using excuses". Sad you have to dismiss legit sorties as "headlines". But denial is strong medicine.

Also, I did get a ticket once for speeding but it was in 1994, or maybe '95, but thanks for profiling/assuming, I know that's what you do best.

Yeah, not all cops are bad....top level FBI abuse of power, bundy vehicle shot up and one dead, Waco, ruby ridge, police all over the USA enforce draconian gun laws that should be ruled unconstitutional by soctus, new orleans hundreds if firearms illegally confiscated.....by police.

But the police will never confiscate firearms. and always uphold the constitution no matter what.

Like I said, the majority of cops will follow orders.

Aka...just doing my job. I don't make the laws blah, blah, blah.

Without a monopoly on violence and those willing to exercise it...the state really has no power over the people.

We actually like the body camera videos. Has reduced lawsuits and complaints nationwide over 75%. Some people still do not understand Case law or state law, but perhaps someday. But damages awarded in court are mostly awarded to avoid going to court. Something that should anger you, it angers me, as tax payers we pay to avoid going to court as it is cheaper than proving we were right or lawful

I figured you got a ticket years ago that made you angry at the Police. It was not me. Do not judge me from a bad contact years ago you did not think you deserved. I have been in the same shoes. I just let it go....

I would believe it has reduced lawsuits. Hard to beat up innocents when you are on camera. I bet more lawsuits are settled out of court too. Hard to justify shooting someone in the back in court when its on video. Interesting thing is if you click on some of those Reddit "headlines" that is exactly what you will see. On video.

Funny how you try to distract with your axe to grind accusation. I am great friends with LEO's. As a fire fighter I work closely with LEO. However, I won't defend the institution or their culture when it infringes on our rights.

The body cameras actually show who instigates the use of force and how it is applied with or outside of police policy. And If you are justified in shooting someone, it does not matter where they are shot. And force science proves how and why this happens. You could research it starting with Graham Vs Connor and then look at Force Science, followed by statistics on body cameras and why the ACLU is now trying to ban them. Hint, not because the Police are generally doing the wrong thing. But I doubt you will take the time.

I am not sure of the culture of police in Utah but I am sure it is not much different of the culture in California. Try to enforce the law, avoid being the court of public misinformation, and go home to your family at the end of shift. Ask your LEO friends if I am wrong.

I have no axe to grind. I do not support bad behavior in Law Enforcement, but I also do not stand for a group of Americans to be painted with the same brush. I do not like being accused of having a negotiable integrity. I have semi autos like the many, and i want to keep them. I was raised hunting like most of us, and I want public lands for all of us. I have never met a firefighter who did not understand or respect our job as for me the feeling is mutual. But some people apparently like to group everyone based on the actions of a few.

I've had semi autos since I was a little guy my first gun was a 22 semi that my grandpa gave to me. I now own quite a few and enjoy them as much as my other guns. Here in AZ my ar gets a workout on coyotes when I get out to do some calling.

i own 2 AR's and have put less than 60 rounds through one and zero through the other. my other semi auto rifles are 22's. i had a remington 7400 in .243 but sold it in favor of bolt guns. i prefer semi auto handguns but still have a few revolvers in the safe. what i'm really working on is a semi auto muzzleloader. i just hope i can still own it after all these damned shootings.

Many, I managed a gun shop for a while so I went on a gun buying spree, I’ve since sold off a bunch.

My wife has a bunch of friends in Chicago, not crazy lefties but definitely not conservative, I’ve had intelligent conversations with a few of them and none of them are familiar with any current gun laws!

I have a few, but not an AR/AK platform rifle. I think they are important for the people to be able to own, but I haven't budgeted one in either.

It will be too late once The Boogaloo kicks off.

An AR for $500 is far from expensive. You can build one for $400.

I hear ya. Not sayin I’m the best prepper. I like the sniping/long range aspect more.
I do feel a growing sense of urgency about gun laws. Scared a few bad apples are making legislators consider anti 2nd amendment type laws.
I might change my mind just cause of that
