How is inflation affecting you?

It is a super tight job market, so retention raises and bonuses are probably off setting the impact for many.
I believe we are in the beginning stages of a wage price spiral. I expect our government to do everything they can to start a recession in an attempt to stop it. This will be bad news for most of us. It won't effect the standard of living of the politicians who created the problem.

$5.30 something in So Cal to almost fill up the minivan.
Maybe "too expensive " will finally be the excuse that the wife accepts for not driving 10 hours to visit inlaws

Yea, its called credit card debt.
I agree. With an estimated 7 out of 10 Americans living paycheck to paycheck with little to no savings we are heading for trouble. Most people will not change their lifestyle until their CC's are maxed out. Then the shit will hit the fan and the defaults will skyrocket. I feel like we are in a perfect storm and another economic crash is imminent. Sure hope I am wrong.

I dont think your wrong in your thinking. I think a lot of people are going to be in over their heads here shortly...

I am a Blessed man.
Just paid off our house.
Paid off my truck, a 2016, before that.
Only debt is my wife's car.
Glory be to God!!!
So we're not suffering, but I have made some adjustments.
Not making the 1 hr. trip down to the surf to fish any time soon.
At least not in that 2500 diesel.
Going to fish closer to the house.
Probably going to start back raising chickens and thinking about
a bigger garden, since food has skyrocketed.
Maybe some bees???
We'll see,

I think it’s inevitable. And while I do not wish ill on anyone, I kind of think people need to re-think what is important and stop living an Instagram life. So many people live a fake life of luxury for the sake of ??? that when the shit hits the fan, it’s going to hit them hard. People need to start growing up about stuff. We’ve become a fat culture and the diet is going to really, really hurt.

My wife and I do pretty well ourselves. The problem is we came into that right as the market took off. We havent put an offer in on a house that has had less than 15 other offers. Our real estate agent called the listing agent and asked what the offer that was accepted looked like on one. The guy put "sellers pay for appraisal, buyer pays 10 grand over, all cash."

I have been milking my pickup along for about 2 years now and was planning on ditching it last year, its ran ok for the last year but back to chasing problems. Its coming down to how much money do you sink into a 20 year old pickup?
Trying to buy a house sucks unless you have a big pile of money sitting around to bid over and waive inspection. Especially if you're a first time home buyer.

We are in the first time home buyer boat. Its been rough and never in my life did I think I would be dealing with this but it is what it is. I tell everyone that the hardest part for me and my wife is that your supposed to be excited about buying your first home because its your first home. We will be excited to get one because its over and we don't have to deal with trying to find one.

We haven't offered less than 10% over and have offered upwards of 30% more than asking and still havent gotten one. Thought we had one in January and it was everything my wife and I have wanted, so it was starting to make sense on why none of the other ones worked out...missed it by 10 grand to an all cash buyer.

Life aint always sunshine and roses but you make the best of it.

You think we will start to see truck prices return to normal, or is the supply side so out of whack it doesn't matter what fuel costs? I remember back around 2010, diesel trucks were very affordable due to high fuel costs.

Pretty sure its a component issue. The issues associated with the supply of parts is getting worse, not better unfortunately.
