Hey all,
I currently hunt a friends property in Utah that is made up of well worn in cattle trails and ancient two track roads that are now single track if you’re lucky.
With my buddies permission I’ve started utilizing a dirt bike to make summer scouting easier by purchasing my first dirt bike. After some extensive research and haggling every dealership within 6 hours of a drive I pulled the trigger on a Honda CRF300F.
That being said if I ever decide to hunt off of it what upgrades have people made to hunt off of dirt bikes?
And if you do hunt off a dirt bike can you post your set up of how you carry your rifle?u

Bars and foot pegs need to go. Swap the stock steel bars out for aluminum from literally anyone on the market, if the bike falls over the aluminum bars will bend instead of snap. Stock dual sport foot pegs are notoriously small, so some oversized pegs will give you better traction and a more stable base to stand from. No advice on gun storage, probably just strap to your pack so it's less likely to have the bike fall on it if you tip over. If you'll be out in the dark, Baja Designs might have a light upgrade for the headlamp.

Thats a heavy bike. What made you choose that one?

I'd toss some barkbusters, radiator guards, decent skid plate and HD tubes at the thing. This is your first bike. Best thing you can do is go try to wear it out and learn how to ride the thing.

So much of it boils down to personal preference. I personally cant stand wide foot pegs, and prefer my bars to be on the narrow side.
