He was also the only one that didn't bring a knife.
Holy shot that was awesome.
After watching the first episode, I looked through some of their gear lists that they've posted on the bio for each guy. Seems like they all chose very similar items...I think every one had the 300 yards of line with 25 hooks , and a 'large 2-L pot'...makes me wonder how much of the gear was their choosing and how much of what they had actually chosen got nixed by producers who said something like 'instead of that, you'll want this for the following reasons...' And I'm not saying that those are bad choices at all, their lists just seem almost too similar. Maybe they all are just that smart...
Also, anyone know what their limitations were for choosing gear? Did it have to be as simple and minimalist as possible or was the sky the limit on each piece of gear and they were simply limited to 10 pieces total? If I were choosing any 10 pieces of gear for that adventure, I think I'd start with a better shelter, something like a kifaru megatarp or similar, that offered a bit more protection.
Chris is the author of the survival book series "Going Home" Hes a great guy. We have had many chats over Emails and I am also on his message board over at Angryamerican.net Ever get a chance to read his book series I highly recommend it. Good stuff.
Chris needs to spend more time in the woods with more predators then just black bears, one more down. You would think an expert who has written about this kind of stuff would last more then 2 days. For some reason I'm giving it another chance.
