Has the Ruger American Gen 2 been out long enough to be considered “proven”?

I like that Ruger and Howa both chamber for 22 ARC. This seems like a better way to get an entry level 22 cal rifle already capable of shooting 88gr bullets without modification
/upgrades and also faster than a 223 Rem.
Mine doesn't like the 88's. 69's, 75's yes... it likes the barnes 50 ttsx too, gonna try those on game here soon.

I actually may be the dummy who would prefer to space out the pain lol. It also makes sense to me to shoot a few hundred rounds through the rifle as it comes from the factory to make sure it’s a barrel/ action worth investing in the chassis for, or deciding I don’t like it, selling it and forking up the extra couple hundred for a tikka afterwards

I have not... did buy some 77 tmk but haven't loaded any. The 88's shoot out of my 1:7 ar, but are single feed

I bet a 77gr does very well in it. I haven’t seen any 50gr TTSX, only the 50 TSX. Did Barnes used to make this model a while ago?

Well, that's the minor issue. Mine flexed like crazy in the forend. Just pinch the barrel and forend together with 2 fingers... and mine didn't shoot well until I chassied it.
Im just going to open up the barrel channel more and not worry about it. The foreend flex feels hardly different than my factory tikka stocks that others seem to have no issue with

As for the accuracy.. yeah I am just hopeful that a bedding job will keep accuracy acceptable. It is only a 223 after all, so I don't need maximum rigidity

The main thing is that you like it. It's your rifle. Personally, I want more accuracy outa my little guns than I do my big one. I shoot at skunks that are 350 yds away with my 223, I shoot at deer 50 to 75 yards away with my 300 aac. 2" at 75 yds is more than acceptable for a short range deer gun, and totally unacceptable for my nighttime coyote rifle.

While you were at it, you should have glued a stick from the pistol grip to the butt to get rid of the stupid toe angle and make it parallel to the bore
The toe angle is extreme
But this probably won't see a rear rest that often, plus a 223 doesn't pack enough recoil for it to bother me

The heel being below the bore did bother me however. But I just finished correcting that with a chunk of pine

Just remember. Everyone will poo poo them now. In 30 years it will be a collector piece and some old timer will pay $1k for it. Same thing happened to the M77 rifles lol
