I started shooting traditional about 3 years ago and have harvested 5 whitetail with it. It is a 1972 Bear Super Grizzly. Regardless of what I do, or what spine arrows, I have to aim waaaay right. I shoot point-on and I'm about at my wit's end with it. At 20 yards, I'm having to aim about 8' right of where I want impact. Is it me, or should I start over with a more modern bow? I'm shooting off the shelf with a tab release.

Hmmm...

Whats your arrow recipe?
What is your draw length?
What is the poundage at your draw length?
What is your knocking point set at?

Let's start there.

Are you right or left handed shooter?
Do you know another trad bow shooter, maybe have someone else shoot the bow. ?
Any archery shop close by?

It could be your release form. Try over exaggerating the following and see if it makes a difference: press the string into your face on your anchor and then on your release follow-through, drag your fingers along your face to your ear and then to the back of your neck. Also keep your bow arm strong, don't let it fall down to the left after the shot.

Yeah, need your specs and I bet folks here can get you close.

I'm a lefty and when I shoot right it's due to arrows being stiff....... OR I'm not lining up the shaft exactly with the center of my eye.......OR I'm not pushing directly at the spot- weak bow hand

Try this no matter the stiffness of your arrow; Before you draw cranks your head hard toward the target so your nose points directly at it with tension in your neck. Then draw the string so the arrow is directly in line with the shaft and not even slightly off to the side.

You will need to do this anyway to diagnose whether you have the right spine and the different conditions.

You might have a bad bow. That's an old one, twisted limb? Can you borrow another bow of similar specs.

You can use masking tape to draw center lines down the bow then sit it in the corner and check if it's straight.
