Most national forest are shut down and crazy wildfires are burning down the the wood due to environmentalist policies. Most people won’t be able to hunt this season. SMH, get me outta here!
A recent convo with a forest service incident command captain told me this: Fires are burning all over the west, California gets all the media hype because the foothills are more populated and homes burn. But it’s still good for the environment non the less.

Not looking for excuses... the reality is that all national forests in the southern half of the state are shut down. I will still get out and hunt. Thankfully I have a tag out of state as well.People are always looking for excuses.
Yes I agree. I live and hunt here in California, but liberal democrats are not going to manage our forest for its health, then let them burn so they can regenerate.California is terrible, if it burns to the ground it would be for the best.
I’m not happy about things getting closed down with the last two weeks of the season looming, but there is gonna be a lot of new country that was way too F’ed off to hunt that will be great for the next 5 to 7 years. Reluctantly it’s a trade off I can make peace with, eventually. You won’t see threads about how great the hunting is in the burns in the coming years though.
Looking down at my coffee table hunting photo collage I see two dead bucks laying in burnt grass and oak leaves. Strange.

Don't misconstrue. Wildfires don't ruin hunting. The California regulatory authorities are.Another thread about Californias wildfires ruining the hunting.
Yes, it was almost pitch dark here (El Dorado) by 3pm yesterday from the crazy smoke shadow of the Bear Fire explosion. then Red sky this morning.Saw a pic of Cali today on another forum,This true?,must have been really weird to see this.View attachment 214175
