I used the Easton epoxy they came with. Otherwise I used Gorilla Glue. Never lost or had an insert move with either one.
What glue or epoxy are you guys using with the HITs?
Thanks! Do the collars snag much when removing the arrows from the target?
I actually thought the Kinetics were smaller diameter than they are. They are the same diameter as a regular FMJ and not as heavy. Not seeing any advantage to them at this point. Likely won't be keeping them.
The biggest advantage for me over the FMJ's is durability. My FMJ's lasted 3 weeks before they wobbled like crazy and the groups opened up significantly. Durability is also the advantage over regular carbon shafts as well; well that, and the ability to have a heavier arrow shaft. The thinner diameter thick-walled carbons are much more durable than their counterparts. Quite frankly, I haven't found a "need" for any type of collar or otherwise with any of my .204" inside diameter arrows. They've all held up great.
My collars showed up in the mail today. I am going to glue them on, and re set all my brass HITs with the AAE max impact to. I think its going to make them way tougher.
Collars not holding up well with a bag target. Been shooting them a couple of weeks and the tops of the collars are breaking and peeling down.
are you breaking them hitting other arrows shooting at same dot still? If not what are the hitting that's breaking them? If so, no arrow is indestructible from constant shooting and strikes to a heard object imo. I've seen some of the toughest arrows with 3d tourni tips and knocks to minimize breaking still get shattered. You hit anything hard arrows will break. I've seen it even with hit inserts as well.In the past I have had some issues with shafts always breaking off right at the outsert and the reason I thought maybe the ballistic collars would add that extra protection needed. Not sure that is working out to well, lost 3 just over the weekend.

Carpet layered targets at 60 yards, lost 3 arrows all the same way
