Arrow spine dilemma

I have a bunch of Easton axis 4mm lr kicking around and I’m a little worried that if I set them up I will be under-spined . They are 340 spine and I currently shoot 300 spine with 50 grains of brass, 19 gr Easton collar and 100 gr tip. Arrow chart from Easton looks like I may be right on the cusp of too light. Bow setup is a Mathews lift 29.5 70lb mods with 28.5” draw length. Any opinions or recommendations on this? I have considered setting up a half dozen (I have 18 of these axis lr) and seeing how they shoot or fly. I bought the match grade half outs for them at 55gr so decreasing my weight up front by 19 or so grains. Doesn’t seem like much but it may help. Also, arrows currently are 27.25” carbon to carbon. Anybody else shooting 340 spine arrows at 70lbs?

If you are trying to hunt with them, then cut them as short as possible. Not sure if it will totally work, but that'll help stiffen things. Try 3 at first and see how they fly. Then if they don't work at least you haven't ruined them all.

Glue in points are a good option too as mentioned. You could then go to the glue in broadheads for hutning applications. Iron Will has some fixed blades that will glue in (synder core). A couple companies have glue in's as well for mechanicals. Evolution outdoors and thorn...There may be others. I also think Evolution outdoors has a fixed glue in.

I wouldn't think it would be too weak at all. I'd think 340's would be about perfect with 155 grains total up front. If you're really worried, cut them as short as you can.

I've shot 300's with 175 total up front for like 8 years with 30" 70# 335 IBO. I've shot a bunch of 250's with it and they didn't fly any better for me.

Trifecta and Thorn also have glue in. Thorn might have been the first out.

All good points. I was actually looking to shoot the glue in Hydes this year. I will try to cut them pretty short, maybe 3 or so and give it a go. If not I will sell the other dozen and buy some 300 spines.

I can get 340's to work at 70#, but shafts are 26" i think.

You can get them to work longer, but i don't think it's worth the headache. It will probably seem fine, and if you are using mechs, don't bareshaft tune, they will probably seem fine.

But that bow in my opinion pushes spine hard. Id drop your poundage or not mess with 340's personally.
