So the ballistic collar will work with HIT inserts? I ve heard a guy say that they wont? I imagine they would thou.

Justin I just got some and they will work, I get six turns to tight with the collar, and eight turns with no collar, not really scientific but I wouldn't even bother worrying about trying to set your hits at a different depth, but you will need new FP's.
I will be setting mine with low temp hot glue to make sure they don't come loose should my FP loosen.

Curious about the ballistic collar and the Kaos arrows.. If any one has any good pics I'd like to see them. Looking for more info on how you set them up. Fletches, inserts, total weight etc. Thanks!

VPA is making a nicer version of this, actually two versions. The first its to used over halfouts and the second has a flange that lets it work well with HITS.

Sorry I got busy last night.
Here are the pics. One dozen I am running this year will be without the ballistic collar and the smaller MaxxHunter Pro vane. Will shoot s 125 grain Ulmer with it. It weighs 460gr.
The other dozen with be with collar and the regular MaxxHunter vane. It will be tipped with a Shuttle T 125 and weighs 483gr

Thanks! Do the collars snag much when removing the arrows from the target?

They don't snag in a bag target or my reinhart but they do build up a little material between the shaft and collar. If you glued them or used epoxy I don't think this would be a problem.

I just ordered the collars, I am going to run them on the .200 Big Game kinetics I already have with brass HITs, glued together with AAE Max impact glue.

aluminum footing would probably be easier with HIT inserts. Kinetics are quite a bit tougher than axis. I have very little issues with damage on the point end of the arrow. My axis however have carbon slivers missing all over the place.

To me it seems like the ballistic collar would be best with the outsert. I'm guessing they had issues with bending them so this is the fix. Looks like a good way to go for those who use the outsert.

Can someone measure how much length the outsert adds to the shaft? Interested in the Kaos arrow and trying to figure how I would have to set them up to get the weight I want.

Also, anyone have nock durability issues? I've read that they break easily?

yea I bent a few of the accu inserts in the kinetics a few years back so then I went to brass HIT inserts. I think the new footer prevents bending.
