Ive had my hamskeas set up with the spring/football clamp, the sliding clamp, and a prussic. Im probably in the minority, but Ive been using the HHP/Trinity/Epsilon since they were released and never had an issue with the spring/football clamp. On my V3X, I have a football clamp and the rubber damper.
Tie off the end of the tag end with serving material. Gives it something extra. Also, if youre replacing this flimsy cord that comes stock and using the rubber dampers, you really have to pull the hell out of it to get it to set properly in the damper grooves. I used bcy 24 d loop material on mine and its thicker than the stock cord and slightly bigger than the grooves in the damper. But once you get it set, its not moving.
