Gerber Myth Field dress Knives

Anyone used the Gerber Myth knife set for skinning/gutting? New hunter, not trying to go super expensive in my first year. Just get a nice set that will last me a bit till I can get all the equipment I need over the next couple years.

I bought the Compact Fixed Blade several years ago - don't have the Gut Hook knife. Not what I would recommend for what you are looking for. Mine has been relegated to cutting mushrooms.

They are not bad for the price. I think the Gator is better for a little more.

Don't buy a knife with mystery steel. For $75 D2, 440c, cpm154 are better choices. These two will get you anywhere you want to be on an animal. The replaceable blade one actually comes with an extra handle.

I went with an outdoor edge razor for now. It has done me good on squirrels so far, no deer yet but hoping to change that this weekend
