Moved into a different house kinda starting from scratch
Being an outdoors family with 3 boys means a lot of gear
Lets seem some ideas for winter projects on storing gear/ tools/ and I also have my bow shop to re set up in this new garage!

Packs the small odds and end camping gear is what I want to organize the most

My dream garage would be something like Steve rinellas. I can't offer any advice since mine is a mess but, he has a YouTube vid which he goes through the process

Stolen pic of da internet. But always thought this was one of those spots that never gets used

Can also sometimes round up sets of old school lockers for sale. You can jam a lotta stuff in those.

Go to YouTube, so many diy options, pre built ceiling storage is way over priced!

Ceiling mounted storage is a must. I like the Fleximount system for lighter, bulky seasonal items.

I use Gladiator gear track around the entire garage perimeter for tools and flexible storage. What brand you buy doesn’t really matter, just a modular track system with a bunch of different hooks.

Bikes need to vertically on the wall. I like the feedback sports velo hinge system but there are knockoffs that do the same thing.

Get the 2” receiver wall mounts to store hitch racks

Building a charging station for all batteries, power tools, lawn tools, etc and neatly route all the wiring with wire ways.

I have a harbor freight 110v winch mounted to my ceiling to lift my kayak which was a cool, mildly overkill project.

Vertical wall mounted fishing rod holders are great.

Replace all lighting with flexible high output led panel lights.

Garage organization is a living, evolving thing. Flexibility where ever possible really matters. Pick the fixed monument locations like overhead racking with caution. All space should be considered in 3 dimensions.

I’ve picked up some industrial pallet racking and filing cabinets for cheap from Facebook Marketplace and local auctions. The pallet racking is overkill strength-wise but made great floor-to-ceiling shelving. Filing cabinets are good for small-to-medium sized odds and ends.

Don't bring me any Garagejournal.com content on my hunting content web browser please.
I get confused easily. LOL

Used pallet racks, and wheels for as many stationary items as reasonably possible.

I really like this vidmar tool chest for gun shop and bow shop with the cabinets and such. What ideas do you guys have for those buying those new seems $$$$

I dislike "clutter" with stuff just out in the open on shelves. For the house garage, I use a mix of the yellow/black totes in ceiling mounted storage above the door and then cabinets for every day stuff. Ceiling storage is for seasonal or lesser used items.

I splurged and went with New Age brand cabinets across the front of my garage. Vertical lockers along with some upper/lower style with a wooden workbench mounted on the lower. I detail cars on a side a little so most of my cabinet storage is for that stuff.

I'm fortunate to have a separate detached garage too for my workshop, which is much less organized but have the steel racks with particle board shelving out there. I probably cant swing New Age cabinets out there unless I win Powerball, so will stick with what i have.

I'm at work - don't have pictures - but buying the same size clear bins (costco business has the large ones clear) or smaller clear ones goes a long way for finding what you're looking for when packing for a day hike or a long hunt. I label and organize my gear, but can still see into the bins for a quick reminder or to see if the exact item I'm looking for is in there. I've put these up on wire wall shelves as well as heavy duty metal storage shelves. Good both ways.

I also got a cheap metal 2-door locker for soft gun cases on one side and ammo organized on the shelf side. Wish I had done that years ago.

Post some pics later.

How heavy can you load those totes
Was this in response to the ceiling storage? If so, each side is rated to 450 pounds, so I keep a 35 pound per box maximum (9-10 per side depending on size) just to be safe. Most are much lighter, it's just the awkward holiday decor and kids clothes. Anything heavier goes on the Fleximount brackets that are bolted to the wall studs
