I feel the chances of someone seeing those videos and being picked in the jury pool is about 1 in a million. Muley freak is only popular amongst a tiny group of people.

My hope is if the jury does do their own research on who MF is and watched those videos is that they have the slightest ability to detect judgment of character. It doesn’t take a Dr. Phil to see that Erik is a narcissist and probably a pathological liar. I’ve been around enough of them to know exactly how they talk and present themselves. From the Utah court videos, YouTube videos, recent IG videos, etc his character is there to see. It’s overly obvious he’s lying.

I emailed Kryptek three years ago after he was convicted of trespassing while hunting UT. I told them I supported their company because I was a vet and I wanted to see vet owned businesses succeed. But I would no loner support them because they continued to sponsor a hunter with multiple convictions. I signed the letter and put my contact info in the signature block.

Two hours later Erik called and threatened to sue me for defamation. I sold all my Kryptek gear the next day for pennies on the dollar. I'll never buy another piece of their gear.

He was, maybe still is, running social media for Kryptek so that would explain why you got a quick response. Now, if you ask them to put weights of garments on their website...well, that gets a bit more complicated.

TS Customs. That was after the UT bust, not sure where they stand now. Their social content is usually plumb full of MF content but hasn't been for a little bit.

I dropped them a message recently and the response was that "bringing me into this don't accomplish anything" and "How about Ted Nugent? Did you contact all of his affiliates about his various game violations and express your concerns about his behavior? His quite a lot larger personality than Erik of Muley Freak" along with a link to a Google search for "ted nugent game violations" (all verbatim from their response.)

He might build impressive rifles, but I guess I'll never know after that interaction.

I did this using my government name and offered my cell number as proof I wasn't trying to be a keyboard warrior. It's totally fine if businesses want to keep supporting certain folks that reflect poorly on the sport, I just won't spend my money with them and will go out of my way to make sure those that I hunt with know about it.

You’re right. We are all so jealous that we don’t get to sit in court every few years. This year I’m hunting Buffalo in Yellowstone so I can get a taste for that sweet justice system.

I have seen people here and on other forums stand up for this guy. I just don't get it. I am 100% in belief of innocent until proven guilty, but when you are dealing with a repeat offender who has previously demonstrated his poor character, scrutiny and criticism is well deserved.

For me 100% of it comes down to how the individual themselves handles it. We all do dumb things and make mistakes or stupid choices. If you own that, pay your dues and work to correct it. You have my respect. If you do the opposite and point fingers or blame others. You don’t have my respect.

Erik did the latter in Utah and therefore doesn’t have my respect.

I hope he is found innocent in Idaho if he did have permission. If he didn’t, I hope they throw the book at him.
