I couldn't resist watching that antelope video. It's amazing and unfortunate that they put it out and the comments on YouTube are pretty supportive.

I had seen the one where he's too busy celebrating to follow up on that buck. It was hard to watch.

We've all made mistakes but this dude should try getting closer and cut the stupid intro scenes. You know... when he gets his license back.

Does anyone know if this will result in him losing hunting privileges in other states? I'm not that familiar with the interstate agreement on that.

I don't like kicking people when they are down but I hope this puts an end to the worst long range hunting videos on the internet. States should use them in their Hunters Ed classes to show students what not to do.

Hey Ryan, you have a link to any of these vids? In my ethics section I teach in hunter's ed, I bring up a number of things that are pretty obviously unethical like herd shooting, but then I lead into things that some people think are unethical but some don't like shooting a running pheasant or ducks on the water and then I go to long range shooting and explain why some think its ethical and some don't. And then I lead into if you do think its ethical than you better be on top of what you're doing and how you go about doing it. If I had an example of an unethical long range hunter to compare to an ethical one, I think it'd be a great tool. PM me if you need to.

I think the use of the Regional colloquialism, in this particular case, will help demonstrate to the recipients of the communique just how far reaching the disdain for this common prick is.

Curious about the 2007 license suspension...

On that we disagree. It also gives those with bias against those who use regional colloquialisms a reason to discount the message.

First Lite said "Not Ours".
Below is their response.
I did respond with a attachment of the utah court document.

Howdy,
Thanks for reaching out and for your concern. We do not know any more about the situation at this time and based on the forum shared above, it appears very unclear what the true issue is.
All that aside, for years now, Erik has been wearing Kryptek products. We have no formal sponsorship deal with Muley Freak.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Regards,

Thank you for your input. I respect your opinion and agree you make a valid point. I will however leave my grammar alone. It maybe good, bad or indifferent but it is mine. You can feel free to change it if you don't like it in the emails if you choose to send them.

Cue the outrage brigade whining about First Lite not doing enough to end a sponsorship with someone they don't even sponsor.. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Have I become to cynical?

I disagree with the findings of the hearing officer that the actions do not rise to the level of a pattern. What exactly does three violations amount too? That jackwagon is a poacher and not a very good one to have already been caught 3 times. Good thing for him he is just boosting elk and not cars.

If anyone is interested, here is the Decision and Order document from the Utah Division of Wildlife hearing. This is public record.
I find it interesting his licence is suspended 48 other states are part of the compact, and he has a bunch of what look like spring bear videos posted.

interesting read. thanks for posting.

so he was suspended from hunting in 2007, cited for trespass on the same ranch in 2015 and cited again in 2017. i'd say he falls into that second category of poaching. it's unfortunate that people get this addicted to antlers. i'd think if it were the challenge of the hunt then the laws would be followed. it sure puts pressure on people when expectations are there to take the biggest rack in the woods every year.

A couple things in the court document that don't sit well with me.

First: 3 times being caught is not a pattern? How many times does it take to constitute a pattern?

Second: The fact that they shortened his suspension because he has a young family and hunting is how he makes his living makes absolutely no sense.. This is the exact opposite of what should've happened.. he should have got it stuck to him worse since he is a so called "expert".
I guess moral of the story, start videoing your hunts and making an income off of them, that way you can get away with more violations since your family depends on that income.. what a joke.
If a race car driver gets a speeding ticket, does he not have to pay the fine, or do his fines just get reduced?
