Form struck someone’s nerve

After listening to Form and some of the Gunworks people talk about Eld-m and Eld-x bullets I did make the switch to two of my rifles. I usually am an Accubond or LRX guy. My three elk and my son/nephew’s elk the results were drastically different then my past kills.
Now I’m stuck with all these reloading components and trying to switch to Eld m/x for my other rifles.

I’m still a guy who likes the big calibers and don’t have any issue shooting them. But I can put my kids in a less roiling rifle and be confident in their ability to stay on target.

But the 6.5 CM with an eld-m killed just as fast as my 338 with eld-x.

They both died pretty fast. Both high shoulder. Both dead right there. Not sure what he means by wallop. But I sure do like shooting the big gun. Even if it wallops me more then then the CM.

I don’t think I’ll ever be able to say Wallop anymore with out a drawn accent.

This calculation gives you actual wallop.

This is the most accurate way to determine cartridge size for armor plated bull elk.

Yeah, "Oomph" is how it's spelled when you say it like this.

Yeah, they have their share of bickering. But it’s not as bad. People have their preferences, some stronger than others. But most seem to realize there is pros and cons to every choice. They don’t assume someone is an idiot if they choose a particular type of equipment.
There isn’t a 450 page thread of anyone trying to sell the idea that mechanicals can work, or that fixed blades can actually be tuned quite accurately. Everyone knows they both work, and just have different strengths and weaknesses.

Nowhere near as intense as the Fudd caliber vs Creedmoor type arguments you see in firearms threads.

The guys claiming you need to pull 80lb + to kill an elk vs guys who say you can shoot a 60lb way better and often the better shot placement gets better results.

Not a hunting podcast but found it funny Rogan calling anyone not shooting 80+ a pussy and talking about how his bow totally destroyed his back in the same episode last week.

Well, I took the bait. I drive a bit at work and made myself suffer through the 2nd podcast today. Man, I don't have any idea of what to say other than I wished I hadn't taken the bait.
The one thing I did notice was that he was adamant about not doing a podcast with Form there.......you could actually hear the fear in his voice.
That pretty much says it all.

Part 3 dropped. They talk over and over about how bison are so tough. 300 prc disconnected the brain stem and the bison kept walking (clearly not possible). But this is evidence that large calibers shooting monos are the only thing that works. 9 mm ricocheted off a bison skull. A 405 required 3 shots. The best part is the only caliber with a one shot DRT result was a kid shooting a 22-250 with 55 grain varmageddon bullets. And they still laugh about people shooting target bullets from small cartridges.

He completely contradicted himself in the first 10 minutes by talking about a Buffalo that took ten minutes to expire when shot through the vitals with a 6.5 creed and how it was borderline unethical. Then almost immediately telling a story about a 300 win mag shot through the vitals took exactly the same time and that was unfortunate but ok. Basically the only real thing I took away from the episode ; don't shoot Buffalo in the lungs if you want them to die quickly, aim high shoulder or base of skull. That is unless you shoot his 35 whelen which is much better than a 300 win mag at killing bison for some reason unbeknownst to anyone anywhere. Won't tell you to skip it, but won't tell you to listen either. It really seems that he can't look at the data that he himself is actually presenting objectively. It's tiresome and I personally won't be giving it more any more bandwidth.
