If B wins out please make it like this and not like the one posted earlier.
Exactly. if you make A, Bs can still attach a rail. if you make Bs, half the group gets something they don't want probably with a higher cost/lead time. they look goofy too.In my opinion, the options for attachments and flat vs round are secondary to that. I can attach a rail to just about anything if I want to.
He is very much leading the chargeWell yes and no. Form still needs to be leading the way on this almost entirely IMO. I want his version of a perfect hunting stock, because I don’t know what I don’t know and so far everything I’ve implemented per his advice has been gold.
Definitely will be an optionMake it long enough for the short spartan adapter
Alterras flush (scalloped) forend is too short

a half ounce rail and a couple screws will not add much weight at allAs long as its not adding much weight to have the material there for a strong enough attachment, I'll go B, but if in the design it picks up a half pound without the rail for some reason (like a backing plate and the material to reinforce it) I'd go with A.
we talked about a filler block, I think the right move is to make both stocks. What about a solution like the hook on the bottom of a KRG Bravo? Sell it with the scallop and sell a filler for those who want a smooth forend.
Maybe that's a terrible idea, I don't know.
There will likely be 3 rail options: pic, arca, and spartan.B! But in a way a guy could pick short ARCA or pic rail! I may even buy a Tikka again just to get in on this!

Not posted yet, but yes on the true negative combIntrigued, I love a recessed pic rail. Did I miss where the rest of the stock profile is? Negative comb?
Exactly rightGuessing this went to a poll because Ryan and Jake want B and Form has his heels dug in on A. How’d I do?
Either one can have a rail installed for Spartan.Maybe I missed it...which option best allows for the use of a Spartan bipod?
This is an alterra flush forend
And the sort of scallop I could get behind
It’s unobtrusive and doesn’t alter handling at all
It also, somehow, is the same weight as the non flush model
This is the type of scallop I would like to see, too - just for the purpose of adding a short rail that would sit flush with the rest of the forearm.

I think a budget basic and bells and whistles version is a good idea with the 50/50splitwe talked about a filler block, I think the right move is to make both stocks.
I've been back and forth on this. Changed my vote three or four times .
But I think we should go with whatever Form says is correct as he shoots way more than any of us will. I trust his experience and judgement.
