Favorite Bourbon Opinions

FWIW for other Bourbon/Whiskey Fans ... It may be worth poking around in some smaller liquor stores in more remote areas for some good finds. I am theorizing that with COVID some of the restaurants didn't accept their orders and some ended up in smaller liquor stores. I have happened up Blanton's twice this way in the past month. I have found 1 other bottle in the Denver area over the past few years. I know a lot of folks that have had the same experience. My two finds as of late were smaller mountain towns and rinky dink liquor stores ... one had 6 Bottles of Blantons at $75 each. I would have selfishly bought all 6, but he limited me to one and I was a happy camper. The other bottle was a single that the owner said was a restaurant order. Possibly the only good that has come my due to COVID! :)
Pro tip...sign up for the Taphunter App. I get Blantons locally but you better drop what you’re doing and drive 100 mph to get there quick.

Found some Blanton’s locally here but at $80, I think I over paid.

Not too much of an overpriced price. Typically it’s around $70-85 in most stores if you can find it. Another tip (you probably already know) is that many stores have a list you can get added to for harder to find bottles.

Love a good Bourbon but we don't get anywhere near that range to choose from in Australia unfortunately

I've really been on a hunt for Weller Antique 107. Anyone have any luck finding any lately? Crazy this stuff used to go for $22

Got a bottle last week in IL. Paid $60. Also had Blantons for $70. Thought the 107 was quite tasty.

For bottom shelve I’m really enjoying Early Times BIB @$24.

Here’s a pic of the bourbon aisle at a store in Louisville KY. I was looking for Blantons to try but no luck. Did grab a couple bottles of Eagle Rare and signed up for a chance to purchase Pappy’s.

I only recently started down the road, but so far under $30, Bulleit rye (if you get the smallest bottle), woodford is fairly decent as well. I haven’t touched anything on the higher end yet unfortunately

During covid i’ve acquired quite a collection. For under $30 I’ll take Remus or Early Times Bib. $30-$50 it would be eagle rare, eh taylor, Chattanooga 111. Over $50 it would be Elijah Craig barrel proof.

My all time favorite is Blanton’s SFTB. I have quite a few hard to find bottles that I haven’t cracked yet, but the above are my easily attainable favorites.
