On the hunt for a new backcountry bow

28” draw is right on the line for those shorter bows IMO. I’d definitely shoot the 32-34 ATA bows before you decide. They hold better and also have a much more forgiving string angle.

If I was in your shoes I’d be looking for a lightly used Lift X 33 and putting the extra dough into the rest of the components.

I don’t think carbon is worth the squeeze. They’re louder, finishes never hold up, and they’re stupid expensive.

Buy a year old lift x or Hoyt AX and put the difference into a really good rest, sight, and quiver. You’ll get a fully rigged out bow for a little more than the price of a bare new bow.

Lift X 33 RH Granite

1400 bucks for well over 2500 bucks of equipment if bought new last year.

Case in point. Buying any new bow makes less sense than buying a carbon bow.
