Down another 2.2 lbs from last week and 24.8 lbs total. My lifts keep going up and I haven't missed any workouts in a few weeks. My diet as been much better, closer to that 80/20 split (80% clean, 20% not so clean). Deadlifted 300 lbs for 6 sets of 2 last week and it felt great to finally break that 300 lb mark and feel good doing it. I'm not trying to add any weight to my DL at this point to avoid injury before the archery opener, but will keep working with that weight as my max and increasing reps. Also putting a lot of miles on the bike and that has been fun to get into...although I'm now juggling time with that new obsession in the mix. Good problems to have. 39 days until archery season opens in ND!

Missed the weigh in yesterday - "officially" under 230 for the first time since I do not know when. Need better will-power on the weekends, working too hard to give some of it back over two days. Still seeing progress though so that is something.

Currently sitting @ bout 232/233 in the mornings. Hoping I can keep it going. I'd be happy with a solid 20lb loss before season but still would like to be down into the mid to lower 220s.

Good week with over 2 lbs lost. Getting real close to original goal of 50 lbs - may hit it this week. Would like to continue down a bit more as long as I can retain strength.

I lard assed in this week half a # heavier than last week. Hope it’s muscle! Off to Whitehorse on the 13th. Time to focus on making sure I have the proper gear and do the best with where I am at.

So glad I found this thread. I’m a newbie and really thought everyone else on here was 6’ 2”, 185 and 28 years old. I started in mid February at 287. Now am at 242. The last 20 lbs will be a bugger. 5’ 11” and 59 years old.

I'm 51 and 6'2". Last year at this time I was at 267. When I went to Montana in Mid Sept I was down to somewhere in the high 230s. Right now Im at 228. I did the Keto thing last year for 6 weeks to cut weight fast and now really watch by carb and sugar intake. Also started cross country skiing 4 times a week in the Winter and ride my bike to work twice a week which is a 25 mile round trip.

Still here and still hanging around 207-208. Since reaching my original goal weight of 210 I’ve worked hard at figuring out the transition between full blown diet, maintenance and avoiding the pitfalls of past diet endings, specifically going back to old habits.

Seems as if 1200-1500cals/day is my maintenance sweet spot. I know that’s lower than most recommendations but it works for me.
Now to get the macro breakdown right. 40-30-30 gives me more carbs than my body likes but adding more protein while keeping the fats down low enough is a struggle.
Damn, learning how to properly eat at 62 is absurd but a real thing. I just can’t get away with eating like I used to if I want to stay fit.

Eat all natural foods....no processed foods.
Agree 100%. I’m getting pretty close but not totally there yet. It’s not something that comes naturally, it is taking quite a bit of effort and change but I’m working towards it. Thanks, Zap

If your craving sugar eat blueberries and use raw honey to top off stuff like chicken. I eat 1lb+ blueberries a day. 2800 or so of calories a day and not gaining weight. Same age.

Damn, 2800 calories tells me 2 things, 1- I have even more work to do and 2-I’m encouraged that I can get there

It took me 6 months to get to all natural foods, now the only thing that is questionable is organic alfredo sauce that I top my broccoli with and organic ketchup. Other than that: eggs, black beans, honey, chicken, wild caught fish, grass fed beef, oatmeal, blueberries, activa yogurt, and soon game meat. Plus supplements and protein shakes. Foil package tuna topped with honey for lunch on the go.
Once I start rucking again I should drop to my goal weigh in 4 weeks.

My proteins are solid. I struggle mightily with vegetables/side dishes. Most nights it’s a salad only, but store dressings are horrible nutrition wise and I can only use vinegar just so often. Asparagus, steamed broccoli etc when possible but I quickly get bored so I turn back to the salads and bad dressing. It just doesn’t seem varied enough nor does it equate to a good macro balance. Too much protein some days and too many carbs when I succumb.
