Manners EH1 vs Stockys VG

I’m sure this has been discussed, but I am asking for people’s thoughts on this. This is for a tikka action. I haven’t felt either, but I have a KRG Bravo stock and I know the trigger reach is closer to the Manners EH1. Besides that, do folks have any first hand comparisons between the two on ergonomics? They seem pretty dang similar otherwise. Any fitment issues with either?

The price of the Stockys looks about better than the Manners, that’s for sure.

Thanks!

Have had all those mentioned, the Bravo is the only one that still has a home
Have you found any similar ergonomics to the Bravo in a lightweightish carbon stock? I do like the Bravo a lot but I don’t want to haul it around. I’m not a weight psycho to so it doesn’t have to be 15oz.

I would still rather have the bravo than either but if I were to pick between the eh1 and stockys I would go eh1. I don’t love the grip on either but I like the stockys even less than the eh1. I like the weight on the stockys better and that was about it aside from the cheaper price.

The manners with the mini chassis was nice and the fit and finish was nicer than the stockys. I had 2 stockys vg one was so tight I had to do some sanding to get the action in, my second was quite loose and the action dropped right in both seemed to shoot fine without bedding. I had one of them crack behind the grip and I just kind of gave up on them because of that and the grip.

Neither really has the bravo ergos, the forends on both are more comfortable to shoot off hand than the bravo but after that I would much rather have the bravo. I wish they could get them down to 2lbs that would solve a lot of problems.

Where any of these used for hunting rifles? I am really leaning towards the Stocky’s for a new hunting rifle.

All were, rifles carried in hand all day shot in all positions no bipods or tripods though. That is part of why I liked the lighter weight on the stockys but I couldn’t get by the grip. Mine were also some of the earlier ones with the spray type foam inside. They were noisy in the brush and that could be part of why mine cracked due to lack of support from the foam. The newer ones are supposed to be quieter but heavier now too.

Hey man! Thanks for weighing in. I appreciate that. I was thinking I’d wait around for an EH1 to come by on the used market to test out. Or, I did see there’s a KRG echo stock that looks interesting, but really isn’t all that much lighter. Anyways, thanks for the input

Buying used would be the best way until you are sure you would like it. I don’t know what it is about the grip on the eh1 but I just hated it. It was all wrong for me, the trigger reach was just slightly longer than the bravo so that really wasn’t an issue just the geometry of it didn’t suit me.

The echo is cool if you want to use factory mags or want to use a longer cartridge otherwise it’s not really a gain over the bravo for me. The slightly thinner forend would be a plus but by the time you add spacers to get the length the cost and weight both go up too. I considered the echo just to shed some weight but it’s not enough for me to make the switch.

Honestly I would rather use the factory plastic stock with vertical grip than the eh1 or stockys but that’s me. I had to build up the cheek and raise the butt pad some on the factory stock but I like the fit and few better than the others. The bravo still has the best ergos but for a rifle I have to carry all day it does start to weigh on me.

Since I've gone to a shorter trigger reach (e.g., Bravo, RokStok, etc.), I can't go back. I had a VG and three McMillans and I've gotten rid of all of them.

Owned one briefly for a Tikka. Quality was very good- certainly up there with mcmillan/ manners/AG. Ithe grip was on the smaller side, and further from the trigger than was comfortable for me. In not sure if the Rem version is the same. For the price, they are very good.

Thank you for the e reply. I may give one a try, hard to pass up on the price. I have large hands, wear an XL glove so the grip/trigger reach may be a non issue. I also like the weight of the stocky’s.
