Are there a lot of holes in the story? You betcha, but...we're 21 pages of memes deep and it hasn't been locked yet.

You must be right, he sounds like a social media hero. Everything he says has to be legitimate. Heck, that's probably why IDF&G is dumping thousands of dollars of resources into helping find his buck he made a bad shot on...gotta make sure he can get those Likes and Followers to keep his street cred up.

Here in lies the problem, a problem that destroys friendships and neighbor relations. Antlers…. Horn porn… bragging rights…. The though an animal has more worth due to its head gear.

Would this be as big of a deal if it wasn’t for the deers rack? Not only to the hunter but the “harvester” as the OP stated.

Extremely limited units… big bucks that groups of people, as seen in this thread, are hunting. Social media likes, conflict over a set of antlers between hunters: All contributes to the bullshit that creates unethical hunting and extreme competition.

I doubt an officer would spend the time to identify if a field dressed animal had more than one wound. Game wardens are spread really thin and even if that was a crime, I doubt they would let it would occupy any of their time.

Even if one bullet is found to have hit the deer, how do you know whose bullet it was if only a hole remains? Even if find a bullet, usually quite a bit of damage to the bullet so you may not be able to match to a specific gun. I have had bullets fragment into small bits after hitting heavy bone at high speed. If bullet left the animal then even if find a bullet 100 feet away can you prove that bullet passed through that deer? I understand claims are made as to what happened though that is a lot different that an unbiased finding by ID-CSI now being shown on NetFlix starring Cam and Vicky with a special appearance by SpiderBull with Denny. Be sure to tune in next week for "The Case of the Missing Arrow" shows us that not all is as it seems.

Just to bring you guys up to speed, this story is being verbatim told on the Idaho Muleys sight on Facebook from the guys real Facebook profiles. They are digging and hoping somebody has seen pics of the deer. They don't have a suspect currently and are making a Hail Mary attempt at getting a lead. Hence the reason for little information...

The other interesting point is that the moderator of that sight claims he was on that hunt as well and was after an even better buck (had a tag) and met up with the OP the night he came back to camp from hitting the buck. He would be the first suspect to write off.

Reader's Digest Version: OP is being defended by several dudes who are themselves trying to be "influencers" in the hunting space. It seems the biggest importance in finding this buck is to get the street cred and be able to share the photos online for fame and glory.

The main argument over there for OP being right and finder of the buck knowing they are "wrong" is that no photos have been shared on social media of the buck. Newsflash, not everyone feels the need to post everything online....

Other than that, there is nothing worth reading on the Facebook, it's all the same non-detailed details as here.

I would hope that most on here are not like the OP and his homies. Is it ethical to take a iffy shot just before dark? Is it ethical to then leave an animal to waste overnight? Is it ethical to then blame someone else for what "you" think happened? Is it ethical to make up lies about an investigation to try to get someone to think you are a victim? Man up!
