I love to talk about guns - especially with the boys in the family, because that’s what passes down to the next generation. . . Well, that and the latest video game with guns. Lol

I could care less. If you think the government doesn't know what you have you are kidding yourself. They can check every transaction you have made for years, listen to every phone call and read every text and email. Unless you pay cash for everything, are off grid and don't have a phone, they know.

Most people in my circles are hunters, shoot guns, etc. Definitely talk about guns when the topic comes up. Like was said before, people who are afraid of guns don't really know anything about them. I don't hang out with anti gun, anti meat, save the whale crowds so I don't really worry about it.

I say what I want all the time. If the gov ever charges me with saying something random ill just be like "guys, you've been listening to the random crap I say forever. Theres not much thats not willing to come out this mouth."

Years ago some friends came over with friends of theirs. I have a few wall hangers rifles. The female, for lack of better term, said, Oh I don't like guns. I told her, guns especial ones like that are completely incapable of hurting anyone or anything, they are inanimate object. They are only able to hurt people when they are in the hands of mentally derange people, or low life scum, a term she took offense to. We never saw that couple again.

I talk about guns with people that have shared interests in them, I talk about other stuff with those that don’t.

i don’t talk about race cars with people that aren’t interested in those either

yes and no...

I don't apologize or shy away from my enthusiasm around firearms but I also don't like inviting unnecessary discussion around topics that aren't really interesting to me. I only have so many minutes in a day and really don't want to waste my time debating savage axis vs ruger american, for example....

Most of the things around guns that I want to discuss or learn about, the vast majority don't (i.e. how do temps effect different bedding compounds or .625 vs .750 gas blocks). Most just want to tell you how well their rifle w/ corelokts shoot or how their $400 bushmaster "runs". Great for them and I don't mean to come off as pretentious but it's not something I'm interested in anymore so usually I'll walk away from said conversations in search of the nearest coffee pot and find a different conversation.

If the op was directing the original Q at discussing this openly with anti-gun people then one of my life ethos's is not to give out advice or opinions unless asked so generally no but if the conversation heads that way I wouldn't be afraid either.

Oh and for the record I lost mine in a boating accident also.

I try to educate people so I will speak about firearms to people but only in general terms. I don’t discuss what firearms I own.

I'm sure glad all my friends have guns they are kind enough to let me borrow. Guns kind of scare me.:)
