Dump her......Most my friends own firearms and hunt, so its a given.
I gauge other people and if its brought up, I'll see how it goes.
GF sorta kinda hates guns, so its never brought up.

F, um, and feed um fish headsThe topic came up at a company that I used to consult for. I voiced the opinion that it was better to know how to handle firearms safely even if you don't "like" them. I also said (in the context of the conversation) that it was better to be prepared than it was to be a victim. A few weeks later the CEO had a sign put up at the entrance announcing that their building was a gunfree zone.
To keep every swinging dick from knowing you have them. Trust nobody.Yes. Why wouldn't I?

I live behind enemy lines in Boulder, yes I talk about it openly and it's amazing how many people here are on my/our side here despite the local government.
I agree. Here in liberal coastal CA I usually turn the conversation away from guns and toward punishing criminals. It isn't the inanimate object that is doing the doing, but rather it is our soft on crime DA's who are soft on criminals responsible for the elevated levels of crime. When the subject of firearms comes up around people that are not (in to) firearms is a great opportunity to help educate them on some the realities that they may not be aware of.
So yes, i don't overwhelm them but talk to them about things they may not be aware of about those nasty firearms ...
In airports, you will get more of the desired response if you quickly get past guns and move straight to bombs.Only in airports and during traffic stops.
Aren't you required to tell an officer (during a traffic stop) when there's a firearm in the vehicle? I've had officers tell me that by law I was required to inform them. Maybe on a state by state basis?Only in airports and during traffic stops.
Technically speaking you don't have to say a single word to an officer during a stop according to the 4th and 5th amendmentsAren't you required to tell an officer (during a traffic stop) when there's a firearm in the vehicle?
