I just realized I never got mine done - I wonder if I should take it in for a spa treatment before I apply.... thoughts?
Still use Loctite on threads. Think of the nail polish as a way to seal out moisture, etc and as an overdone witness mark.I've never seen this done before.. Why exactly aren't you just putting a touch of loctite blue on you threads?
Put a splash of visible nail polish on the screw so that it also is on the base metal (ring, base, etc) and you will see that it solid. If the screw moves, you can instantly tell by the fact that it is cracked between the screw and base. I don't put too much onto it that it plugs up the screw hole in case I have to tighten it later, I don't have to try to dig the polish out of the hole.I've never seen this done before.. My wife taught me this when we started dating in 2004.I've never seen this done before.. Why exactly aren't you just putting a touch of loctite blue on you threads?
But if we got you some black or gray stuff and put a manly label on it, you’d be all over it.Been shooting rifles for 35 years and I never dumped that shit on my ring screws ever. Nor would I.
What an odd practice. lol
Interesting. So can you do this instead of loktite?
What is the advantage over loctite?
Like I already have a bottle of loctite, what do I gain by not using it?
