Do I want a Staccato?

I'll preface this by saying I picked up some college courses a couple years ago to open more opportunities for myself in the future. I actually posted about this while I was debating doing it. Turns out this (along with other contributing factors obviously) might actually payoff as I'm currently being considered for a role with a significant pay raise.

I've wanted a nice 1911/2011 for probably 20 years, but could never really "justify" spending that much. I'm currently carrying a 365 macro AIWB. I have a G19 that I carry OWB for the typical outdoors stuff. Which Staccato carries about the same as a Macro length wise? The macro length is about all I can carry without it getting painful sitting, squatting, etc. I'm planning to order a Tenicor Certum to see how the G19 carries AIWB for another size reference.

The C seems that it would be the best "all around" option that could replace most of what I currently have. Although, I'm not sure if I'd wanna beat the snot out of it in the "outdoors" role when I have a G19 for that.
The CS would obviously be the easiest to carry but that's it's only pro that I can come up with.
The P would be an awesome range gun, but that's it.

I keep coming back to the C, but want to hear others thoughts. The new HD doesn't interest me as much, and I have no interest in being a beta tester.

They are good guns. Pricey and part of that price is the name and hype. If you are really wanting one or something like it, go for it.

Your current guns are probably better options for 99% of people who carry for defense. The staccatos will shoot flatter and are likely more inherently accurate. You will need to train the single action and safety engagement and disengagement particulars.

FWIW I have a decent bit of trigger time behind 1911 platforms and SA/DA 9mm as well. I carry a p365xl and prefer striker fired platforms for carrying.

I have a C2 and a P. I fitted the P with a C2/VIP grip because it hides better and I don't mind losing one round in the first mag. They both shoot great, and if I was only going to get one I would probably stick with the P and the C2 grip. The only reason I went with a Staccato is because of their DUO system for mounting red dots and my love of 1911s.

Just get a 365 AGX Legion instead…has the hand feel of a high end 1911 on a much better platform. You’re already used to the XMacro. Same frame, waaay better feel. I just got one, it’s awesome

I have the Wilson Combat grip on my macro. I like everything about that gun except the trigger in mine is not very good. Very gritty. I bought it right when they came out so maybe that was a factor.

The AGX Legion trigger is way better than the standard XMacro. It’s excellent.

The legion has an alloy frame. So it’s got a really unique feel to it. I’ve owned and shot some pretty high end polymer rigs. This one is a different beast

Check out Garand Thumb on YouTube. He has a video where he drops multiple semi auto pistols from the top of a shipping container. Many of the high end guns didn't perform well. Staccato was one of them. It's something to consider. Obviously my opinion doesn't matter. I am too cheap to buy a high end pistol. I have zero experience with anything other than Glock and Sig semi autos. I do appreciate the craftsmanship in custom, high end 1911's and the nostalgia associated with the platform.

I'm with justinspincher on this one - if you want a Staccato, buy it. Model selection from their current offerings will be a challenge - especially if you don't have access to he model line or the capacity to test drive one with local ownership. They're a spendy item, so ready, aim a long time and fire. Good luck with your choice.
