Any idea what the barrel length would be where the front taper part hits 0.675"?

If my math is right, a 5/8" thread needs 0.625" plus a 0.050" shoulder, or 0.675", and it needs that diameter about 5/8" behind the muzzle.

So it would be nice to know what length that factory double-taper barrel could be cut to and still thread 5/8x24 with a 0.050" shoulder. And that length would be its 0.675" point, plus 5/8 of an inch for the threaded section in front of the .675" point.

IIRC that's like 18"ish on my tikka 6.5cm with the 20" barrel. Maybe it was 17.3"ish. It's been a few days since I measured and I didn't write it down and my calipers aren't in the same room with the rifle right now.

Keep in mind, these are caliper measurements while "eyeballing" a tape measure on a kitchen table. They won't be perfect, but they should be close. (JRTXE32422MT)

Didn’t realize how lucky I got when I stopped by the local gun shop a couple weeks ago and they had a stainless 6 creed on sale for $800. Just figured they’d rolled out faster than I thought they would. Been able to put over 100 rounds through it. Every bit as accurate, if not more, than my other Tikkas.

Has anyone one the new 22” 6 creeds with factory ammo yet? I am interested in velocity results

I only usually worry about the chrono if I’m seeing something weird, but I’ve shot Hornady factory 108 ELD-M out of it. 2850 fps in the ballistic solver has me centered 100-700 yards.
