Daylight Savings Time is Here to Stay

Oh I’m sure the House will make an issue of it but if it doesn’t what I don’t get is it won’t go into effect until Nov 2023.

It was tried twice before, latest time in 1974. It turned out to be a flop. There were places where sunrise did not occur until 8 AM and other places later than that. People just did not like it so, we went back to changing clocks twice a year. Not sure it will work this time either.

As someone who's worked second shift almost my entire life, I absolutely loath mornings. I dread turning the clocks back just as the rut starts heating up every year and will gladly take that extra hour of sleep before daylight.

I’m all for not changing the clocks but I’d rather see it set to daylight standard time, the times for winter. If daylight savings time becomes the standard it won’t get light until 8:30 in the winter months
Agree and it matches natural sleep rythms better. Docs have argued this forever. So weird to go with savings. I wish it could be split down middle.

I can't imagine it not getting light until after 8:00 in the morning. Being a morning person it will be interesting how my body reacts. Probably will just blame anything on old age though. Lol

finally, we don't have to deal with time change twice a year anymore, we are the only country change the clock twice a year and say "bye bye" to daylight saving.

We moved to Alaska last summer and pitch black at 10am is definitely a tough adjustment.

I thought I read the House already rejected it but can't find the source.

My theory is that one's opinion on DST vs standard is heavily influenced by where one lives in a time zone. If you live on the west side, full standard time wouldnt be too bad. On the east, DST leaves more light in the summer evenings to make up for the early darkness in winter.

I live 40 miles from the east side of the Mountain zone. Being somewhat susceptible to seasonal depression, give me full time DST. Evening darkness at 4:45 in December sucks.

I'm the opposite.. not that I won't enjoy the extra hour of sleep in the morning, but I like when the clocks change back and I'm out of the stand by 5:30pm.. more time for supper, family, watch football, process deer, etc..
