CZ Trail 600 .223 Rem - Anyone have experience with it?

So Question... would everybody say these types of grouping sizes could be considered "common" when ya drop barrel length down to 16" like this model?

My thought was, I want another .223 Rem gun so that both myself and my son could have one at same time on an outing to go coyote calling, and then it would also have that benefit of the packability for when I want to consider trying to use it in rough alpine terrain.

And I figured it'd be a great gun to bring with before the season when you're doing your scouting, so ya maybe bring it along to try some sets calling for yotes since ya happen to already be out there looking for where the deer are passing thru.
The other gentleman that mentioned that Rossi LWC, I'm diggin on those too, great caliber options, but I just don't wanna commit to a single-shot action style. At least not yet anyway.

Kinda thinking I might just go with a Howa Mini-Action, since I was impressed with the Ultralite.
My 16" AR's are much more accurate. I also have a Savage Trail Hunter Lite in 5.56 that'll put 10 in an inch, but 20" barrel.

I need to load some of the 73 Bergers and see what they do in handloads.

A guy could definitely make it a handy 200 yard rifle, but when I've got handy 700 yard rifles, it's hard for this to get much love.

Well... in a world driven by common sense, I'd enjoy whatever the freak flavor of firearm I wanted. But since my home state of KommieFornia is filled with gullible people... My options for folding stock fireaems drops to non semi-autos. Unfortunately. So, If I want to employ that nice helpful form factor, can't be a semi. Not without registering it a certain way, which I'm fundamentally against.

I just did one of the Tikka barrel swaps in 6CM, it was so easy and it's so accurate, from the first shots.

I realize I don't have time or desire to chase accuracy.

Gonna send this CZ to a smith and see if they can do something with it.

Love the platform, but it's never gonna fill a need for me as is.

Can you guys mention what kinda grouping you were getting when using rhe more-common loadings in like 55gr, 62gr?

On a side note... in regards to that Rossi LWC model the gentleman mentioned earlier.

Anybody have any real-world experience with one of those yet in terms of their accuracy?

(EDIT: that 5 Lbs weight isn't to shabby! Just hard to reconcile going single-shot for me though in terms of for hunting. )

For your described use of a backpack gun, it would be hard to beat a solo-300 straight pull bolt AR-15 like all the guys in this thread are building. There’s also the new BCA bolt action upper that can turn an AR-15 into a more transitional bolt action. Either of those with a folding stock will easily be < 5 pounds and some guys are getting them close to 3 pounds with ultralight parts.

Edit for clarity - this choice specifically because you can’t have a semi-auto in that form factor.

I'm intrigued by this CZ Trail 600 .223 Rem 16.2" bbl w/ telescoping stock.

Especially sicne I'm in CA, and there are some places which rather stupid, out in the middle of an NF, will have signs up stating firearms prohibited. But, they mean up at the top of this mountain where there are antennas and on-site staff housing for some people maintaining them. BUT.. the whole damn mountain is very in the middle of the firearm-zone on this NF's map.

So, sicne I'm interested in hunting, with rifle, significantly further down that mountain... was thinking this CZ 600 would be great to shrink it down, stuf it into the backpack. Maybe even carry a bow with me too on the hike-in, just so no whiny liberal could cause me any grief, cause then I'd present as just a bow hunter, which I also sometimes do.

But before plopping down the money for one, wanted to hear the thoughts and impressions of other users who own them and use them.

Would appreciate any info or things you've noted about the rifle that come to mind.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Including link to the rifle on a local retailers website so you can verify which rifle I'm asking about.
With the CZ600 trail, I've landed a 0.771 MOA 10 shot group with the 20 inch barrel in 223rem. 55gr sierra blitzkings loaded to mag length under 23gr of H322.

Can't speak for the 16 inch version sorry.
