SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FOR CVA PARAMOUNT MUZZLELOADING RIFLES
Immediate Stop Use Order for CVA Paramount Muzzleloading Rifles
CVA is issuing a safety recall for all Paramount, Paramount HTR, Paramount Pro, and Paramount Pro V2 muzzleloading rifles. This recall pertains to all production years of these models. Owners are required to cease use of all Paramount rifles immediately and, if loaded, safely unload them as instructed in Section 17 of the owner’s manual. http://bit.ly/4vyYt6Q
Reason for Recall
An unsafe condition may occur if a Paramount rifle is improperly loaded, including but not limited to:
• Double loading
• Use of incorrect or incompatible powder
• Improper loading, cleaning or storage procedures
• Presence of obstruction
These conditions may create an increased risk of failure, serious injury, or death to the user or bystanders during the initial or subsequent firings.
Instructions for Owners
Immediately discontinue use and refrain from loading or firing, if currently loaded. For detailed instructions regarding the remedy, and to begin the recall process, please visit bpioutdoors.com/paramount-recall/ or contact our customer service team at [email protected]. To speak directly with a customer service representative, please call 770-449-4687, during regular business hours.
We understand this safety recall may be inconvenient, and we sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding. CVA is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer support, and we are working to make this process as simple as possible for affected customers.

Sounds like they forgot to mention some legal stuff in the manual to me

What a BS recall as it's currently written..

So how does the Endura and Endura Pro compare to the Paramount? Smokeless powder is a nice option even though I know people were doing it with the Paramount anyways.

Or I guess I could shop the Bergara lineup!

If you're gonna do a full recall of a muzzleloader because - gasp - double loading it might present a problem - then you might as well exit the industry.

Source - I'm old enough to remember what happened to the Savage 10MLii and old enough to have seen what happens when you double-load a Knight MK85.

I mean yeah,. I was "shocked" when I got the email. POS rifle company. On a serious note, hopefully no one was killed or maimed. A recall like that usually follows some catastrophic injury lawsuit or the like.
Problem is, someone was. There's a boat load of attorneys involved.

I didn't know that. So I went and looked and found this:

So are the guns actually defective or did somebody do something stupid that wasn’t explicitly prohibited in the manual?
I’m sorry someone got hurt and I do know guys use smokeless powder in guns not rated for it.
