Cold Bow 2025.... QnA Thread

I took a video with mine but I can’t figure out how to upload it. I’m going to upload it on YouTube real quick then add it to my post
Great shooting man, I saw your video. So far you’re the only 100 yard MER in the vitals with the video to prove it. Good luck on your next two.

I’m in! Post #15 if I recall.

I was worried this entire week…I started lifting weights again early in the week, trying to focus on fitness and train my “weaknesses” before hunting season. I shot on Tuesday and did poorly. My MER that day was looking like 40 yds. I was going into this with the goal of 60yds, but a buddy convinced me to push back 10yds (if 60 is my max I should be practicing at 70 was the reasoning). Anyways, I lifted on Tuesday and was so sore that I literally couldn’t draw my bow on Wednesday or Thursday. Had to skip a weekly 3D shoot cause it was so bad. Friday I snuck in some evening shots, maybe mustered 6 shots at 60 and 70 yds, had a good shot at 70 and decided to go with that. I’ll probably never replicate it during the actual challenge unfortunately

Wow, lots of guys coming in with a trad and a compound. It’s still mind blowing how much further a compound can shoot than a trad.

Well I had a major miss Ugh
Not sure what happened but it did.
Probably punched the release. shot did not feel right thats for sure

No lie had some butterflies letting it rip at 65 yards today as I have not practiced in a few weeks after being slammed with a out of town project.

Lady luck coming in big time and managed to keep with in the circle of death.

heckya Sam. Ryan says luck trumps any skill (and look at him! lol)

Felt good shooting my bow today. It’s the first time I’ve shot either bow since I killed my bull in early September. I had carpal and ulnar tunnel surgery on my draw arm and have been babying it.

I was going to dig out the bows earlier this week but figured it would be interesting to just do the cold bow super cold.

Part of the reason I haven’t started shooting yet is because my bow range has become a pasture for the packgoats I got last summer and they destroyed my targets. I’m actually heading to town today to buy some fence to divide the field in half so I can have access to the range and my wife can access the pond without being harassed by goats.

Post surgery, I also broke out in a rash from the pain meds they gave me.

Waiting for the goats to clear so I could shoot.

The tape job is horrible because the goats kept eating the tape as I would pull it off the roll and kept rubbing against the target as I was trying to put the plate on.

I might run up on the mountain to shoot tomorrow unless I get the fence done:)

The skill level with trad fluctuates a lot more too. Just a couple weeks ago I was shooting great at 25-30 yards. I can generally maintain close to peak form but it always comes at the expense of something, so I'm learning to embrace some poorer shooting while I improve the long term musculature for shooting.
