Last practice round before tomorrow’s opener. That was my first arrow of the day, 1 inch outside the vitals. But I’m still gonna stay with 60 MER as that’s what I’ve practiced for the last couple months and have had a high percentage of hits, plus I wanna push myself. Did the last 3 years at 55

I'm going to start on Monday or Tuesday (if there are slots available).
Scheduled to help set up our local 3d course tomorrow morning and shooting another course Sunday.

Nailed today’s cold shot. Only thing to do is get overconfident and shoot at 25 for the CBC

Will shoot after 9:15central and see how it goes

Morning everybody, today’s the day, @Howard Mee and I are getting ready and will have the thread open by 8:15 mountain time.

I’m sitting in the back patio drinking coffee looking at my Matrix downrange. Gonna stick it!



I lost my sweet father last year on May 6 so I didn’t get to shoot, and then I had a bum shoulder until July.

Howard and I had to shoot off then to bet on who had to do the lead post this year. I only won by one arrow but still only went 2 outta 3. Hoping for 3/3

Howard’s gonna do the lead post so pressures on him lol (ur gonna kill it buddy!)

He was out until almost dark last night shooting his broadheads for this. We’re both doing 60 this year.

I'm surprised how quiet stuff has been.


@TheCougar and I are probably loosing some arrows today, got no time to shoot tomorrow, and then all week need to shoot to prep for next weekend.

If some slots still open come next week, I'll dig my hunting bow out and see how that goes.

I'm itching to go. Shot right after sunset at my MER last night with 1 arrow and nailed it. Just have to wait till I get off work this afternoon to get my first arrow downrange. Good luck everyone!

@CorbLand you got robbed brother. Prolly still would be a dead deer. I’ll be watching, the devious part of me wants to see what happens when you hit that rotor on top of the target lol. Good luck, man thanks for pitching in.

Walking up to it, I told myself if there is even a knick in the plate, I am counting it as a hit but not even a scratch.

Practice in the wind last night went very poorly, need these gusts to calm down before I try shooting today. All the talk about skinny arrow wind drift makes me laugh, wind pushing my body is always the biggest issue i have with wind.

Walking up to it, I told myself if there is even a knick in the plate, I am counting it as a hit but not a even a scratch.

Dang! Yeah, it’s standard I think count it if you break the line. That’s what they do in 3-D Archery so that’s what I do in the CBC.

Agreed. Anytime there’s wind on my body and my bow. That’s what throws me off. If I stand behind the shed and get out of the wind and then hold into the wind, it’s not that hard.

To you guys that are trying to hold your place without shooting, per the rules your posts are disappearing. That’s what it means to shoot and post in “real time”. Don’t go build your post and then go shoot and then come back to it.

Thanks for asking and yes, it does matter. It’s too hard for the mods to qualify when there’s multiple people on one post.

So yeah if they’re gonna shoot, they gotta have their own accounts. They’re more than welcome, we love to see little kids in this thing. But that’s the way we have to do it.

Yeah, that’s how you do it. Has to be hosted by YouTube or another site and then you just post the link on here and it’ll auto populate. Thanks for taking the time to do the extra work for a video, I like watching those.
