Cold Bow 2025.... QnA Thread

The 160 looks a little less tall so would maybe fit better under a tonneau cover? Anyone know?

Hey robby denning have you all considered only allowing one weapon choice per person? Seems like a headache for you all to count both weapon entries for a single individual!

Also in the spirit of trying to mimic a hunting scenario, we don’t carry around a compound AND a trad bow around in the woods, well maybe some guys do….

Anyhow just a thought, limiting to one weapon and one entry per person might simplify things a bit.

Love this competition, my bow is shooting better than it was in the fall so let’s hope I don’t fall apart in the next couple months :(

It’s not hard to capture shooters for both. Especially if they do it in one post.

Haven't touched my bow in about a year. This might be a good thing to find somewhere local to shoot and how bad I am and also learn how much I suck again...

I might just have to post a following dot instead of turning on notifications just out of spite though.

Just getting a new RX9U set up so I’m pretty excited. First carbon bow.
This should be a great test, I haven’t shot more than a few shots since I missed two grouse last September 😂. I got sick and lost a bunch of muscle mass last fall, still working on getting it back so hopefully I’m back at 70 lbs and ready to hunt by then.

Looking forward to shooting this challenge, currently by bow is completely apart. Working on getting it cerakoted. Hopefully I can have it together by then

Bro!!!
You have some work to do!
I want to see the steps/process as you put it back together. Looks like a lot of work.

I’ll hopefully be picking up my bow today…? Feeling like I’m behind the 8 ball a bit, but your current condition makes me feel like I’m winning! :)

Keep me posted. I seriously want to see the progress.

Starting from the ground up on the sight tape.
Really want 20 yds to be perfect before I start stretching out the yardage. 🤌

I lost my super secret broadhead launchin spot... not sure I'm going to be able to do this. Maybe with the tradbow... cause my MER on whitetails sure seems like 20 yards after last season.

Hey all, just updated the Challenge thread with some prizes:

Swarovski is in with a STC 14-40x56 Spotting Scope

Total Vise Company is in with (2) Promo offers: 40% off & 30% off for their
Howard's Ultimate Bow Vise

Are there any restrictions on the species we intend to use for vitals sizes? My garden has been invaded by chipmunks the last few years, so I want to determine my MER on a 1.5" circle.

You determine your vital size. Make it clear in the photo.

we assume this challenge is for big game, but if you want a 1.5" circle, go for it but you need to shoot your MER for big game. @realunlucky likes to make the guys trying to shoot 20 yards start over.

Aim Small, Miss Small.

LOL!

But I always suck less when I give this challenge a try.

Do it IDVORTEX!

I started my practice CBC yesterday. stretching from 55 last few years to 60 yards for this practice round. If I land all 3, I'll go 60 for the actual challenge. If not, I throw my bow on the ground, pout a few days then reassess maybe going back to 55.

Day 1-- in the vitals (9", has to break the outer line of the center Matrix module)). Quartering to me wind at 10mph. (didn't have phone for a pic so per Rokslide policy, this didn't necessarily even happen lol)

Day 2. Light wind. Nailed it. Same POI as yesterday

Day 3: light wind, quiver off. In the money! So it’s gonna be 60 yards this year for me. Haven’t tried that for a few years.

Hey all.

We just stirred up the prize pot a bit. Originally two members could win a 40% off & a 30% off on Howard's Ultimate Bow Vise

But we dropped the 30% and added in the whole enchilada--so now someone will win the Bow Vise and someone else will win the 40% off.

Total Vise Company is in with (2) Prize offers:
1)
Howard's Ultimate Bow Vise to one winner
2) 40% off an Ultimate Bow Vise to second winner
