Not that I'm counting. For inquiring minds

19/32 first day hits qualifying for >600 yards

wind misses
<4mph -5
<6mph -5
<8- 2
<10 - 1

wind (stated) hits
<4 -8
<6 - 5
<8 - 4
<10-

Couple Leupolds appeared/claimed to have lost zero
Inquiring mind here. Thank you!!!!!

This is what @CorbLand did for the Cold Bow and I find it super interesting.

On the “19/32”, so we had 32 shooters trying to qualify for the >600 yards? Seems high (but I’m often high)

I added a video of both @QMR and my 2nd shot in my post, #22. His post is #16.

We will get some more trigger time and practice in. He's calling for revenge in this challenge next year.

He was bummed he missed the target the 2nd day. I told him he did great and hit the target the first day, just a couple inches outside the 10" ring. I don't think he's even shot more than 75 rounds through this gun total.

Thanks again for the opportunity. It was a good excuse to go shooting and even better to spend some time together with him.

I counted 32 so far shooting at least 575 yards. I make no assurances on accuracy of my counts, literally scribbled a tab and counted.

I count 22 w MER < 575. 7 of 22 hit 1st CB shot.

And by my count... 7/32 so far have hit their second shot to qualify for longer distance.

I participated in an Elk Dispersal program this year in Colorado. To qualify for the program you had to hit a 12" x 14" horizontal oval at 200 yards three times and then transition to 300 yard same size target and hit it three times all within 2 minutes in front of a crowd, first miss and you're out... No Pressure Right?!?! First 3 shots had to be off your knees or standing with any support you would carry in the field, second 3 could be prone. Of course I had to go first... Passed. Surprisingly out of the 30 or so that showed up that day, only 5 qualified. That really opened my eyes to the value of practice and this Challenge is no different. I am adopting a new mantra to make a cold bore impact before each practice session, when I'm done with CBC of course.

A little video my dad took with the scope on the 300 yard target, you can hear the impacts and range officer's calls on the 200 yard target.

To complicate things you could shoot mono's to gain access to land subject to lead free requirements, so I threw together a quick load before the qualification. The Hornady CX's were hard to tune and group sizes sucked, but were Minute of Elk...elk.jpg

The results you have are pretty much what we have out there hunting and it seems to mimic the results we have here with Roksliders doing better than the generic hunters. Very eye opening. Hopefully we all take it for what it is - a way to help us do better.

Damn good shooting @Megalodon with that wind call 👊

It’s been a hoot seeing the results of this challenge. Especially when the rokslide crew is the elite of the elite. 🤣

Shot 2 posted. Shot in the afternoon so there would be a little more wind to make it realistic. Came up .25 moa from my last shot and held half a minute for wind. Should have held a full minute. Looks like it fell right on the line. This was a fun challenge and I think I’ll be keeping my MER at 500 until I get more time reading and shooting in the wind.

Got my second shot in. Just barelyyyy made it inside of the 10” circle. My elevation is perfect but the wind was tough! Was not planning to shoot my home range just to keep it realistic but there’s a storm front moving it and the wind was all over the place, so it felt fresh and challenging.
For the second leg I’m going to have to find a new spot to shoot in the mountains, my usual long range spot has a massive washout in the road. 250% snowpack in our mountains this year washed out a ton of dirt and paved roads.

Once shot 2 is done, you’re free to shoot. (Unless your doing the 600+, where you would be held to 1 a day until 4 shots are complete)
Re read the rules and it says one shot per day of the challenge so ended up not shooting anymore.

Feels better if I can assume it was just the wind anyways 😂

10-15 is pretty normal here so I’ll try again next weekend or something

Excellent job to everyone getting their shots in. I will shoot my shots this weekend if I can get all my stuff cleaned up after being on the road for the last ten days.
