How do these stupid laws affect people passing through? Lets say someone from Texas driving to Wyoming? If I am stopped in CO and in possession of my 1911 what happens?
Wondered myself however you 1911 is safe because if i recall the law is for gas operated semi automatics. Question still valid for a number of other firearms thiugh.

Committee was yesterday and they passed it 3-2 last night, It is on it's way for vote in the State Senate. the tie breaking vote was Democrat Matt Ball.

"Ball served in the elite 75th Ranger Regiment, received two Bronze Stars, and continues to serve in the Army Reserves."
****. Well. I wrote mine yesterday.
That's insane

This bill to me is only hurting local businesses. Colorado residents who still want to buy a gun will just have to go to a surrounding state and buy them there. From what I read (which was not all of it) this wont outlaw possesing a gun with detachable magazine. Either way goes against the constitution and would eventually make its way to the supreme court and be struck down.

Hopefully one of the courts issue an injunction against it to prevent it from being enforced in the meantime.

I used to get all excited and angry over these kinds of things. All of that goes away once you decide you don't care. I don't care what law is passed, I'm not going to comply.

Sad to see that. As a fellow USASOC veteran this is really troubling. I can say with some confidence that a semiautomatic weapons ban would not be popular in the halls of 1/75, 2/75, 3/75, or anywhere else there. He clearly has departed greatly from his oath to support and defend the Constitution. He was selected by vacancy committee, not elected. He represents an urban Denver district so voting against likely would have ended any hopes of reelection there. Not making excuses for him but also relevant. Everytown, Bloomberg, Giffords, et al. have tremendous political power and fundraising mechanisms in Colorado.

It is sad to see CO going so far left over the last decade or more. I live in rural Illinois and if it wasn’t for family and roots I’d be a resident of MT or WY right now...
I was 5th generation Colorado (my Great Great Grandfather founded the town of Bennett, just east of Denver) until I got fed up with the crowds and left there for Montana in 1975.

Now the liberal pukes have infested Montana, and my county, Gallatin, was one of the few blue counties in Montana in the last election.:mad::mad:

Let's just ship the libtards back to Cali and wherever else they came from.
Blame it on CA when it's your Universities cranking out liberals thats changing your voter base.

Do you realize the vast majority of Californians leaving the state are Conservatives that hate liberal policy?
