Choosing fletching based on broadheads?

When building a new batch of arrows, do y'all select your fletching based on the broadheads that you want to use, vice versa, or do you select each without respect to one another?

I ask because I'm ready to fletch a batch of bare shafts, and I would like to tip them with 2-blade COC broadheads. Do I fletch them with the usual 3 fletches and let 'em rip, or should I instead go with 4 fletches and align the broadhead with the fletches?

Depends how big the broadhead is. Bigger the broadhead usually more surface area needed, bigger vanes or more vanes(4). I personally like longer.

I’m fletching some small pm 2.0 in 6 fletch, some in 4 and the some Max stealth with 3. Ill shoot them all and see what flys the best. The 6 small have the same surface area as the 3 large, pretty excited to see how they fly. I’ll also be shooting either an iron will or solid fixed head.

Personally, I don't think it matters as much with a compound as with a Stickbow.

I shoot a big BH [Buzzcut 150s, VPA 150s both 2 and 3 blade] in both my compound and recurve.

My compound is BH tuned....I have tried 4" vanes, FF 360's and Blazers....all shoot the same groups for me.

Shooting Blazers with these big BH's....and even playing with offset vs helical I still got the same good groups. Counter intuitive to me but I couldn't tell a difference.

Recurve; now here is where bigger fletch really makes a difference. Makes sense though due to archers paradox. The smallest I can go with those big BH's is 4" feathers.

I’m using a four fletch with a straight clamp and as much off set as I can put on the shaft. I’m using a AAE stealth and I’ve been shooting a number of different fixed blade heads. I love to mess around with stuff and seen why works and what doesn’t. Now I have bare shaft tuned and made sure my arrows are square and my fixed blades are indexed to my fletchings. Some guys say it doesn’t matter but it makes me feel better. Muzzy trocar, wasp dart, ramcats, slick tricks, shuttle t..I’ve been able to get them to all group passed 50 yards. It’s rewarding to see the impacts down range.
