The Kelvin Active in a solid would be my ultimate jacket!Very much this. I received a bunch of camo Sitka clothing for Christmas this year, and I've ended up buying a number of my favorite pieces in solid colors too for everyday wear. There are a number of items (like the Kelvin Active) that I'd buy in a solid color in a heartbeat if they offered it.
No kidding. Seems to always have my temperature right where I want it. And they make the women's version in a solid color! The Kelvin Active in a solid would be my ultimate jacket!
I just recently bought all my gear in preparation for my first out west hunt this coming year and have had this thought several times. It depends on what kind of lifecycle you're shooting for with your gear. Some people like to sell gear to move into the next iteration or technology, but some people would prefer to transition it from their hunting lineup to their everyday wear. My hunting clothing is waaay nicer than most of my everyday wear, and I wish I had the forethought to buy solids so that I could wear it away from the field whenever I moved on to the next big thing.
And before anyone says to just wear camo for everyday wear- I'll have to pass. I prefer to go unnoticed in public and at the trailhead, and I feel that wearing clothing in camo patterns that the average person has never seen before does not achieve that end.
